Good this is over. Now he can move on with the 2019 class. All the hype is gone and he can recruit with no fan pressure. UGA didn’t go ballistic Year 1 under Smart. Same thing going on here. He’s got some pieces to help and he can build around that.

Herman also finished 33rd last year and is 3rd this year. We’ll be fine

It's hard not to look at this situation as Pruitt coaching Bama in the playoffs contributed to us landing a subpar class and Bama to a good class. It's like the worst of both worlds.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do in 2019.

For reference, Georgia finished 6th that year. Tennessee is currently sitting 22nd.

Comparisons to Butch Jones are not valid. For the 100th time, we are not competing with Butch Jones.

Does this class stack up with the top level SEC teams? No.

Does this class get us a step closer to competing for an SEC championship? No. The gap widened.

That’s the bottom line.

Comparisons to top level SEC teams aren't any more valid. That's not us right now. Today's lesson is that UT is now viewed less as a sleeping giant and more as a has-been. A veritable punchline. Minnesota, Nebraska, Syracuse, Colorado level. You want reality? That's reality.

Today has sucked, but take my advice, KV: dig in for a tough haul. The road back is going to be long and fraught with hazards. Complaining about not having reached our destination after 2 months isn't going to help anything.

yep...Nebraska has been ****ier than UT and they have a nice class. They even have a pulse right now. We jsut beat their ass less than 2 yrs ago, both have new coaches and we are viewed worse lol......awful.

What do you think the reason(s) are? Pruitt didn't have the luxury of time and Early Signing Period really hurt.

They are literally one spot ahead of us in the rankings. Also, Michigan has about the same number of 3 and 4 stars as we do.

Not gonna lie, that stings a little.

We are sitting 18th...the difference between fls class and ours is the Copeland commit. Texas a/m became Texas's little brother again today. Pretty sure Miami won the state of Florida again

Really baffling that we missed on literally every big time recruit down the stretch besides Peterson. Every single one.

Gotta change the culture/perception. Starts with winning. Starts with developing players. Starts today.

What's done is done. We have a talented roster. We have some strong pickups. It's time to go to work.

As much as today sucks, it's important to remember who beat us out...programs that have won a natty (or several) since the last time we won one. Hell, some have won a championship or two since the last time we won the East. Someone in one of these threads the other day said that these kids are visiting and are genuinely shocked that Tennessee is nice. Undoubtedly, the other coaches are using our last several classes against us. "Look at all the talent they had and STILL couldn't win! Come to a winning program, son." I have full faith in Pruitt but he isn't proven yet. I don't think Taggart's 47-50 record is going to translate well at FSU but at least he has one to point to. That's what we're up against and I think this staff did a great job of pulling us out of 56 and into the top 25. However, as amazing as recruiters as they are, the only thing that's going to prevent another day like this in 2019 is winning. If today proves anything, it's that most of these kids don't care about tradition, relationships, facilities, etc. They want to do something we haven't been able to do even with incredible talent on the field-win.
