It is losing your best friend. Had to put down Samson my Jack Russell a few years back cause he was 14 and got really sick. Now I have Gideon, he is 14 now and looking really old and feeble. Going to be tough again when he goes. Sorry for your loss Cat.

So sorry about your loss Catbone

If you have other pets in the house,
keep a watch on them and you might tell your neighnors to watch theirs
At least until the vet can rule out a few things.

Lost a few family pets over the years and one even in the last few months. Similar situation. In fact 3 of the dogs died while at the vet. I tend to think they are holding on for us. Giving it all they can for us and then when we drop them off they feel they can die in peace and not have to let us down. I would tend to say the same is true here. Sounds like he/she was fighting with everything to make it for you.

You did the right thing. It’ll always hurt but you did the right thing.

Really sorry to hear this, Catbone. Losing a dog is hard, especially suddenly like that. A lot of us have been there and feel for you.

It’s so much better around here with D4H around. Personally, I am entertained by self inflated absurdity

I'm sorry for your loss Catbone. Losing a family member is tough but at least all dogs go to heaven. Except white inbred ones from Athens, GA.

Wonderful words here, great to see the love VN brings during rough times.

Cat, prayers are with you and your family. Like others have said, it’s more than a pet. Just remember all the good moments and the love the pet gave you and yours over the years.

I once again know this is the recruiting forum, but our VFL Tennys Sandgren is on to the quarters at the Australian Open. Upsetting the 5th ranked player in the world. GBO! Also, I'm truly sorry for your loss Catbone.
