Depends on how well our WRs/QBs are developed

I think Chandler can be everything Kelly was, even better, counting the KO returns. I think he could remind everybody of Kamara, if he is as good as I think his and will be. I think CFA needs 10 touches a game, too. If UT ends up with just Banks this cycle, I still think we are loaded at RB. Gillespie recruits and coaches 'em up, so glad Pruitt kept CRG

James Coley, who everybody agrees would be a good hire, Started as a QB coach, learned to coach TE at FSU (pretty big school), then learned to coach WR at Georgia in the SEC just 2 years ago.

Tony Alford went from RB to WR coach while at Notre Dame.

Johnny Nansen went from defense and special teams coach at Washington to RB coach at USC (the big one). :loco::detective:

Google the New York Giants likely new HC, Matt Patricia. Starting in 2004 with NE, he was offensive assistant then assistant OL coach before shifting to linebackers and safeties on the other side before becoming the DC...and he’s an Aeronautical Engineer. :)

Reggie White didn't play in the passing era of football like the pass rushers do today. How many more sacks would Reggie have gotten if the QBs dropped backed 30+ times like they do today?

He would be eating these QB's like lunchmeat if the minister played in this era of football.

Yeah, the really good coaches that want to be HC want to coach different positions. Scott Frost is another example that coached defense first. Everybody has acknowledged Gillespie is a good coach. I think he would do great at WR. Yes I would rather he stay at RB and we get a proven great WR coach, but I wouldn't worry about him coaching WR. Especially with how good the rest of the staff is.

Quarterbacks held onto the ball longer back then tho. The West Coast offense was still mostly a Niners and Bengals staple. Getting rid of the ball wasn’t as much a priority in the vertical passing game.

That's not the question.

The question is, for one college game, using college Reggie White and college Derek Barnett, which guy would you pick?

There's no wrong answer.

The only question you could ask where Derek Barnett would be the answer over Reggie White is "Which name comes first when reading names alphabetically?" haha, but seriously can't think of a single scenario where he would be better that Reggie. :)

Reggie White is the GOAT.

Barnett is on his way, but nowhere close.

Reggie White was an awesome player. Whether or not he's the greatest of all time is debatable. There have been many great players, and opinions will always differ on who was better. I just think the comparison between Reggie and DB is unfair. Both had great careers at UT, but they played in different eras under different coaches with different teammates of varying talents. And as far as NFL, Reggie had his career, DB hasn't had his yet. When his NFL career is over, then we can discuss who was better.

To play devils advocate, how many sacks would DB have if he played 270lb tackles?

FWIW, I don’t have a say in the argument because it’s impossible to compare eras

Reggie White. All day, every day.

I said last night that I didn't know if I wouldn't take Leonard Little as well.
