Recruiting Forum Football Talk LIII

Pruitt needs Thomas more than Thomas needs Pruitt. Bad start to the new era if we miss out on Thomas.

Nah I don't think so at all. Thomas would be a nice addition but in no way does Pruitt need him. He's got a staff full of guys with SEC experience and top recruiters. I really don't think Thomas is as big of a deal as everyone is making him out to be. Three weeks ago, myself included, 90% of this board had no idea who he was. He's not going to make or break Pruitt.

As much as I like Austin Thomas, this should be Pruitts call. We need to let him make the changes he thinks will lead to us winning. I hope Austin and Pruitt can work something out, if not I trust Pruitt to make the right hires.

^This. Pruitt’s baby. If this doesn’t work, Thomas wouldn’t be getting the pink slip.

I’d use all of Baldy’s money to pay recruits.

My grandpa lived in South Fulton for years. I went to school at Martin, worked at the park and rec in Union City and Jordan’s Store (Jurdans) for years while in school.

Looking back, nice area, but wasn’t thrilling enough for a 18-22 year old lol.

I went to UTM and have frequented Jurdans many times. lol

How tf do you get in TBA using stubhub special will call event? It told me to go to will call but they said they don't do stubhub?

Almost everybody leaves. There's not much here, but that's why I like it. It's drying up bad now though. Most manufacturing plants have closed and all the youngsters move off. There's houses for sale everywhere and nobody is buying.

My brother is still best friends with the owner of The Lean Too.

Dear gracious. We had a poster say he was the most important person on the staff last night and now this. Crazy people think a person that has never played and never coached is so important.

Dang I miss posters talking about how important the s&c coaching hire is to this staff.

Had some friends that worked there when I was in college back in '99-'04.

You were there right after me. I graduated in ‘99. Likely we know some of the same folks.

Owner was a big UT fan. I was always one of his favorites because I kept him up to date with the new recruits coming in every year.

Thanks man. They talked to my wife about 5th gen and said they just launched 5 new satellites. We've checked on cable and DSL providers around us today and they said they can't service our area. Sounding like we're gonna have to give Hughes a go.

Be sure to get whatever router they recommend the most, regardless of cost, as when you have issues down the road, the first thing they will do is say it is a router problem (they may provide router now but not sure). I will again reiterate buy at least double the data you think you need if can afford. It does make a difference.

I am going to upgrade to 5th gen after 1st of the year because my Dad has raved about how much better it is. He does not use internet as much as I do, but for him to speak so highly of it, think worth it. Good luck. It took a while to get used to satellite after being a broadband customer for years when I lived in civilization. Know ahead of time satellite net is not the same consistent instant gratification of broadband or cellular connection, but serves a need not otherwise obtainable and therefore worth it.

Is The Keg still there?

I guarantee we know some of the same folks. Were you in a fraternity? I was a Pike, but had a lot of ATO and Phi Sig friends.

Yeah, it's still there, but it's changed ownership several times. It's less of a bar and more of a restaurant now. No more pool tables and the bar area is more enclosed.

I get to listen to him just about every Sunday morning. I've found for the most part his information is normally good. He's not 100% of course but no one is. My main knock on Doug is sometimes I feel he's a little too much of a sunshine pumper.

For the record I don’t think he makes things up. I think he’s just quit to project/guesstimate on the future.

I think at times he may hear about or see a player have a great couple days of practice and I think doug is quick to say that guy will be a major factor or a starter.

Same with the QB commits last week. He was saying nothing to worry about and both would be Vols. He was saying that with certainty and look what happened.

Same with this Thomas stuff if it was to get worked out or even if it doesn’t really. He’s already saying it will NOT happen but I do not doubt Hubbs when he says they’re still not walking away from the table yet.

Doug just doesn’t know how to vet anything or choose his words more carefully.

I was a Phi Sig.

The Keg had some major local politics running out of there back in the day. Great food!
