Recruiting Forum Football Talk LIII

The school can admit anyone they want. There are additional requirements from the SEC and NCAA to be eligible to play sports.

This isn't hard.

He’s a winner, a fantastic coach and would help bring elite talent to UT. Another important piece to the Goon squad.

Won 7 state championships and 1 National Championship as a HS HC.

I get the fact that he wins but the fact that he had two families while at Hoover wasn’t the only problem. He was changing grades, recruiting, etc. Hiring him is a terrible visual cause he’s a bad guy.

Dang I don't like him and didn't know that stuff

The school can also add additional requirements.

Are we talking about Orlando Brown specifically? Because my memory of that situation is that there was an additional SEC math class he needed and either he hadn't taken it yet or didn't think he would be able to take it in time to qualify.

Oklahoma didn't sign him assuming he would qualify. They took a chance.

Tennessee didn't take the chance because they preferred to sign the sure thing in Jashon Robertson.

Academia at UT has been a problem in the past. Not convinced it isn’t to this day. I know Hart was working to fix it.

It won’t matter if we win. In fact, it’ll be a big positive if we win. Americans love a good comeback story.

Can someone educate me on the difference between JUCO and FCS related to recruiting? Is JUCO better for recognition or is there a transfer rule from FCS to FBS that requires them to sit a year? Just curious.

It's illegal to recruit other 4 year schools
If they transfer they have to sit out with some exceptions

I know there were allegations, but was it ever proven that he changed players grades? He's owned the family thing. Check the article I linked to in another post. He admits he was a complete and total jackass. But he still denies everything else, and I have not seen where the other charges were proven.
