Funny, he's a trader for accepting a head coaching job worth millions... He signs and is now working for the University of Tennessee and under his contract, he is supposed to do whatever it takes to win... but stay away from other team's recruits... hmmm... you can't fix stupid.

Loved this exchange.

This hire has already begun to fan the flames of the Alabama rivalry. That is a very good thing for us. We have been completely irrelevant to them for such a long time. Bring me all of their hate.

We might need a new thread devoted to just that. I would check it every day and smile.

JJ could have used Jeremy's influence early in his time at UT. Would have been more disciplined personally and as a player. Don't know if the situation is redeemable or not. Hope so.

I think they are really close to disowning him. All of the people worried about him being a Bammer. Might not have to worry to much longer if he keeps pissing them off. I’ve not seen bammers this fired up about the Vols in a long time. I think we got a good one.

Most of them, before he was hired, wished him luck, but not UT of course. All I was thinking when hearing that is: 1. What if he takes your croots? 2. What if he beats you? They’ll hate him as much as Fulmer. Part 1 is fixing to start happening very soon.

I'm loving the rivalry coming back, and Fulmer being AD is really fanning the flames.

After the poor treatment from Hamilton and the gang, I'm so happy to see him back. Listening to him during the basketball game, knowing that all the main teams seem to be going in the right direction, I haven't been this happy with the VOLS since Fulmer was head coach ..

It really is becoming clear how mediocre the program has been. The way Pruitt is getting after recruiting is the way it should have been all along. Swing for the fences .

You guys help me out. How does Austin Thomas recruit without being a coach?

He was able to go on the road last year for LSU because Coach O didn't have a full staff at that time.

You can have the Head Coach + 9 others that have the ability to go on the road. Same reason Fulmer is able to get out and recruit right now.

There's no restrictions for on campus recruiting though IIRC

LSU got a special exemption for Thomas to travel for some 75 year old coach LSU had.

It was discussed in that article I posted earlier when I said we need this guy.

It will be interesting to see what Pruitt can put together in the time he has. Personally, my hopes for this class are tempered by the limited amount of time he has to sell UT. He has relationships with lots of recruits, but he still has to try and sell them on following him somewhere new. I'm curious as to who he'll chase of our decommits. Obviously Mays and Taylor, but any word on if he's pursuing Dean or Horn? And will he try to encourage some of our current commits to look elsewhere? I'm curious of his evaluation of some of the guys we currently have. From here to NSD in February, it's truly silly season in college football recruiting. Have to remember to keep your arms inside the ride at all times and enjoy the rollercoaster.

Each new day has me more pumped we "missed" on all these other coaches we wanted and landed Pruitt.

Excellent article, and one we all need to read and heed.

clemson really had something to do with it last yr. If they beat them again then yeh you can say the dynasty is dead.

Ughh... Clemson. :yuck: They're having too much recruiting success in our backyard.
