Please just end this Circus show. My gosh this has taken a toll on all of us. I swear any other fan base would not be able to go through something like this. I am worn...

Any other team would've hired leach by now and would be recruiting right now.

Too bad.

Yep. If you want to give a death stroke to the program with these gawdawful candidates, just cut the suspense.

Really underwhelming search list.

Was hoping we would get a second shot at killing this hire. Can’t happen soon enough for my sanity

Hopefully, the killer part will come from the assistants/support staff. Very underappreciated component.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Literally had Leach in hand, and now not a single coach with a HC job wants in

I remember legends of so many coaches contacting the AD during the season, with the job SO much more attractive now.

Not saying we CAN’T be successful with the current crop, but man... I don’t like the ingredients we are cooking with

I was confused why everybody suddenly thought we'd be in on some huge names when Fulmer was trotted

There was a quote about coaches being interested now that we’re not with Currie in place.

Still hoping for a rabbit out of the hat

As much as I love CPF, I was always concerned about him in this role, seeing certain assistant loyalties in the past and a likely “old school” approach

You might be right. I think Leach is definitely worth a shot and I would support that hire, but I have no doubt of Fulmers ability to hire a coach.

Fulmer understands how important this hire is and I believe because of BVS a lot of us have such low hopes for what will happen.

One thing I know right now, anybody is better than Butch Jones and I mean that 100%. Yes even Bobo would be better than Butch. As a psychologist and having friends that worked directly with Butch Jones he was a terrible coach. Dude micromanaged everything and had some serious issues. I am thankful he is gone.

One thing that is promising that I think we aren't paying enough attention too, is the fact the Fulmer isn't taking this search one hire at a time. He is interviewing multiple candidates before he decides what is going to be the best fit. This is completely different from Currie who would interview and then present an offer before going to the next candidate on his list.

I will try to say this as nice as possible. Fulmer was not a coaching genius. No one wanted him to coach prior to his Tenn service and obviously after Tenn service. He won because of the Joe’s recruited and NOT because of smarts. He is Tennessee tho and won a Natty. Not confident in his next hire. Ugh

I am sure he was outcoached a few times, but I do not consider him a bad coach at all.

Hubbs already said Fulmer will be with Peyton Tuesday w. don't take a random Twitter acct as gold

This is only one, there are more. Hyams and Hubbs both said Peyton was working with Jimmy Haslam on this coaching search and the AD search when Currie was hired. It sucks that he sided with them, but it is what it is.

Found a video of Fulmer interviewing Doeren

That's the thing I'd take out of a Miles hire if some of the staff rumors being floated are true.

The two things that have hurt our program on the field the most over the past decade or so are not having the caliber of players (or enough of them) we need to compete on campus and poor development.

If we hire Miles and he puts together a staff resembling most of the ones he had at LSU (and if we somehow manage to swing a couple guys like Tee and/or Austin Thomas over to our side) we'll at least get back the point where we're taking care of the lesser teams in the conference and putting a team out there that somewhat resembles the Bamas and Georgias.

Some are upset because Miles most likely doesn't have it in him to make another championship run. But odds are we weren't gonna be in a position to hire someone to make a playoff run for us this time around anyway. Gruden/Petersen/Gundy were never gonna come here. From the get go, our best bets were in hiring an up and coming P5 like Brohm/Campbell, a G5 guy like Morris or Norvell, a current P5 coordinator, or a retread like Miles.

As far as I'm concerned, getting Miles at a discount price (provided he brings in a solid staff) isn't a bad option. We haven't had a legit SEC staff in years. Probably since Kiffin's year. I'll be happy if the next guy can burn up the recruiting trail and develop the guys he gets. Miles has shown he can do that. The tradeoffs with him are all about Xs and Os and in game decisions. But the right staff could offset that to a certain extent.

And who knows, after Miles is gone maybe we’ll be able to land a great coach, or somebody like Frost who is in high demand. Miles would be able to “set the foundation” and is probably the best short term option we can get. He can quickly flip the roster. We hire another no name coach I doubt recruits will buy in like they did with Butch(at least to the extent they did) hire Les and they will

Miles had done something we haven't done in a long time, beaten top 10 teams. Also he has beaten both Saban and Meyer. He maybe crazy but he is a good head coach. Just needs a top notch staff.

Agreed. We got rejected by a ton of coaches last week and I didn’t think they were going to change their minds so quickly. Plus, my one fear with Fulmer is will coaches wonder whether he will be meddlesome?

We just need to sign Les Miles and put a fork in this search.

Great post

I was hoping for the championship coach this round, but it looks like that is not in the cards. I think Les’s best days are behind him and he is no longer that dude.

That said, with an improved East and strong staff, if it is Les, My personal expectations would be

Florida and UGA: 1 win every 2.5 games
Alabama: 1 win every 5 games
USC: win 70%
Mizzou: win 70%
Vandy and Ky: don’t even think about it

That’s not what I want, but what I expect

Multiple people are saying it. Too much smoke for something to not be there. Somebody needs to ask Hubbs.

Jimmy Hyams who has been a mouthpiece for the Haslams said today on The Sports Source that the Haslams are no longer running things at UT. That other boosters are calling the shots.

If he's saying it, then it's true. Remember he was the first to suggest Reid Sigmon would take over after John Currie was fired but instead it was Fulmer.

He looked really said today on The Sports Source. That lets me think his boy Jimmy Haslam is no longer calling the shots.

Our second string running back..

[twitter]https://twitter.com/NFL/status/937478374695546880[/twitter]

I predicted all of this with Alvin.

Lets go through the list of bold predictions I made about Alvin that have come true:

1. I was the only person ANYWHERE that said Alvin was the best RB in the 2017 NFL Draft. I said he was better than Fournette, Cook, and McCaffrey. 3 guys most felt were better. I have been proven right on this front.

2. I was the only person ANYWHERE that said Alvin would be the next Marshall Faulk and that he would gain 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in the same season. Alvin is currently on pace for 800+ yards rushing and 800+ yards receiving as a rookie. I would say I have been proven right on this front as well.

3. And finally I'm sure I was the only person ANYWHERE that said Alvin Kamara was a Hall of Fame talent. And I must say 3/4ths of the way through his rookie season, Alvin looks like a future Hall of Famer.

I think its time I got credit for being the ONLY person ANYWHERE to see Alvin for what he truly was. And that is a once in a lifetime athlete.
