Les took a top 10 program, had great success and then declined that program to the point of being fired.
Since that time, not a single program has pursued him

He benefited from:

1. Saban setting the table
2. Exceptional instate talent with unmatched loyalty to LSU
3. Incredible luck in the face of boneheaded decision making in game

With all due respect to Coach Fulmer, he is Phil 2.0

You know what's funny? When Les Miles was hired at Oklahoma State, Mike Gundy also interviewed for the HC position. Superstar QB at the school, but they felt he didn't have enough experience. He finished 2nd to Les. They asked Les if they'd bring Gundy on as OC and he accepted. Les coached there a handful of years and they handed the program over to Gundy.

Could be happening again.

I might get on board with this.

After we swing the big bat

Oh brother, now that is great....hire a coach and tell him you are going to hire his Asst Coach as well as his position coaches.....There you go Coach Phil Fulmer...just what I would expect

Beat me to it. No coach in their right mind comes here having their staff chosen for them.

Dooley had him beat and should have won

And with a super win % and that, you know, national championship ring.

But yeah, same as Butch.

It's fine. It might work out well. Maybe a fresh start would do him well. I'll support it if he's the guy. Especially if Tee is on staff. But LSU fans sounded a whole lot like we did his last couple years. That's all I'm saying.

He may be perfect to bridge us to the Tee era tho. Hopefully that's really the plan if he's hired. If we hire Cam Cameron to run the offense I'm gonna be mad.

Well hell folks. I'm back.

Soooooo. I went back to my bedroom, where I thought my wife and kids were watching a movie. Nope. All sound asleep. Got coldcocked by my own boys.

Before I tell the rest of the story, understand, we moved into this house a couple of months ago (we were living in my condo while we (my wife) house hunted. I didn't even know where it was until my wife showed me. She found it, I got the privilege of paying for it.

On with the story now.... So I'm thinking, no big deal, I'm still drinking, it's all good. I'll just check out these other bedrooms and find one I like and sleep there tonight. Understand...I've seen my bedroom, and my boys bedroom. Apparently there are at least 4 other bedrooms that I've found (so far). I am not shi**ing you, I did not know that there was another freaking master suite on the other side of the house....and it's cooler than the one I'm using. It's it's own separate little world. It's got everything a master suite would have....then it's own little sitting area...it also has a coffee pot in it...a small two burner stove....and a full size refrigerator!!! This is not an apartment however. It's more like a freaking hotel room with one sweet assed king size bed in it.

Obviously I have not been home much in the last couple of months...in part due to you clowns, and your wanting to win football games and sh** like that.

Needless to say. I am now perched up in this room. It's quite possible, I may never leave it. Guest suite my ass...this baby is mine.

Ok...continue with your shenanigans.

We need some place new to visit this Christmas, so....

It didn't say he was going to choose them. It said he would use his connections to try and help get them. Was there more to that article that I didn't see, or are people already trying to fill in blanks that aren't there?

Why would anyone want Les Miles is beyond me. He had the most talented teams in the country every year and severely underachieved. He recruited in the easiest most loaded area in the country.

Why would he be good here with mediocre talent and much harder recruiting?

Also everyone loves to say “but what teams wanted Schiano?” Same thing applies here, nobody else wants him either.

Tee Martin solves the QB recruiting and development. Not to mention we already have Penix and Martinez coming in with JG already here.

Martinez got a Nebraska offer today. If UT doesn't get a top level offensive coach in, then I bet Martinez will go elsewhere. He's already visited Ohio State and Hubbs said he was going to visit Mizzou as well. I'd say, he's probably not going to be a part of this class.

Anybody remember why Les Miles was let go? He was to stubborn to evolve his offense. Sound familiar?

Being fired on a public stage and having a year to ponder on it typically provides a new vision I would assume.

Second chances are typically met with a renewed drive and better understanding on what caused previous failures.

Yep. Go back to Brohm if we aren't willing to go to a mega name like Petersen

Nick, have to think bigger picture if indeed it’s Les. This is more about grooming Tee and long term stability.

Its Tennessee..we don't like newfangled things like scoring touchdowns in bunches, or passes to open WRs or TEs in the middle of the field. We like to see running backs run up the OLs rear ends 30 times a game for 2.9 yards. That's some creative offense right there.
