Who wouldn’t want Joey Dimes back?

Merk is already gone.

If the question is another year of Joey, or RS Freshman GMac… my 5 year old can answer that correctly.
Joey for one more year also let's you get a real QB competition between GMac and Faizon in 2027. The issue is that if they battle for the job next year, what do you do if Faizon is the better talent, but George wins the job from having a year in the system? That's delicate. Faizon might outright transfer. Or you're setting up another QB competition between the same two guys again down the road.

I think if they get Joey back, give George an NIL bump, they'll be able to keep Faizon and GMac for a winner take all competition in 2027.

View attachment 777571I know it’s not football related but weather is pretty cool. If anyone is interested, I can share a link with a few different radars to watch these two tropical systems interact. I don’t deep dive into hurricane history but I don’t recall this happening recently?
If it has happened recently it probably occurred in the Pacific.

Supposedly it happened twice in the Atlantic in 2023, but they were small systems and nobody talked about it.

The recent examples of big storms were Pacific Typhoons. Hinnamnor (2022) swallowed a depression in the Western Pacific. Hillary and Irwin (2017) rotated around each other then merged and fell apart in the Pacific.

1995 was the last time two Atlantic hurricanes interacted. Ironically the names were Humberto and Iris.

How could the AD have any negotiating power at all? I want my money, and I want it now!
Maybe there's a timing interest in it, like contractually he can't engage other employment till a certain date and he'd rather move on actively rather than wash a head coach's car while sitting on his buyout money.

Finebaum possibly running for US Senate is not something I had on my bingo card.
Just the Senate? Why not president like Stephen A?

I do get a kick out of it. Never managed anybody. Never run an organization. Never been to a city counsel meeting... But screw all that boring stuff, I know how to run my mouth so I'm going to DC!

I'm sympathetic to his motivations. But thinking it's appropriate to channel that into just becoming a US senator is just typical talking head narcissism.

The booby-canes?

I'm not real sure...I thought 3:30pm was the "best slot" for SEC games, or at least that's the one the conference wants the best matchup usually.

If that's the case I think these could be possible night games.

Oct 18: at Bama...my assumption would be 3:30 would be Ole Miss at Georgia
Nov 1: vs OU...unless they slot us at 3:30, the other matchup to watch is Vandy at Texas since both are top 20 teams as of now...I expect Vandy might be going into Texas with a couple losses though so may fall outside top 25
Nov 22: at Florida...just 4 SEC games that weekend and I think they'll want Mizzou at OUR or Arkansas at Texas for the 3:30 slot
On November 1, Vandy/Texas has already been set at noon, and UGA/UF is set at 3:30. I think they are now considering the 7:30 game as a great slot with 3:30. I think there is a good chance that our OU game is at 7:30. LSU and Bama are off.

Watched his Everything Orange episode with AP and AP asked him what he likes to do/likes to go during his downtime. JA said he doesn’t really go out, said he basically just goes from his apartment to the football facility and back every day all day. You can tell he is locked in.

(He does take the offense out to eat every Thursday but sounds like that is really his only “going out” time)
That’s why he’s good, and our previous 5 star was mediocre. Preparation is key to success.

This might have been mentioned but anyone see the all 22 of the JA to MM throw out of our end zone? Absolutely unreal play by JA. I didn’t understand the pump fake watching it live, but he started to throw and a defender jumps up to bat it down, Aguilar pulls it back down then throws a dart. Dude has been flat out elite this year. We have something special going on right now with him.
He’s not just your average Joe(y). I’ll see myself out.

Jk but he’s unreal. His mentals are off the charts and he plays smart but also isn’t afraid to take some shots and push the ball down the field.

Well according to UT sports

at Bama is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
at Kentucky is already listed as Night (6-8)
vs OU is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
vs New Mexico State - 4:15
at Florida is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
vs Vandy is afternoon (3:30-4:30)

So yeah...we got OU as the only remaining option for a night game at Neyland.
You can go ahead and mark this down right now… I guarantee they make us go on the road in our remaining three games and play them at night.

If I was a miss state fan I’d be mad they aren’t ranked. 4-1 and beat Arizona state that’s ranked. Only loss is in OT to a top 15 team
They are ranked, just not in section most folks pay attention to (the media likes a nice even 25 teams for publishing purposes, but there are typically 30-40 teams that are ranked).

They dropped a single spot and are now ranked 28th. We beat the #27 team. But our fanbase thinks it would have been an awful road loss. Go figure 🤔 Very good win.

It's insane that Bobby Petrino is again the head coach at the University of Arkansas. Why'd they fire him again? I mean, that wasn't still a problem?
He had an affair with a woman that was a recent student athlete turned university foundation employee. Then he put her on the payroll with Arkansas football. When he crashed his motorcycle the university provided information that was different from the police report (that nobody else was on the motorcycle with him - she apparently was). It got unearthed, created a PR nightmare. Nobody (publicly) truly knows how much Arkansas and Petrinos family all knew. Arkansas fired him for cause, claiming being misled about an inappropriate workplace arrangement and such, likely to save their skin (similar to what we are accused of by some with Pruitt). In other words, he was likely a headache the whole time and everyone knew, but he had gone a combined 21-5 (11-2 in his final season), and instead of keeping him on and trying to weather whatever storm he was causing, they decided to cut him loose thinking they wouldn’t weather it and the damage could have been worse than whatever they could do moving forward. They probably thought the momentum he created could be maintained, but they went 4-8 the next year and have not recovered since.

The Joey coming back for 2026 narrative is interesting. Would definitely win an appeal for that extra year. Wonder if he could play his way to being a late round draft pick this year though.

Can’t it be both? Good WRs getting good coaching and an offense that when done correctly with a qb that can make quick reads and has a good chemistry with his receivers can create more potential for wide receivers to get open? I don’t get why it has to be either or, just because the NFL doesn’t do it that way (even though we’re seeing more and more college-derived concepts in the nfl these days).

I think it’s all simply about protecting the NFL marketing brand and the jobs of people who don’t want to revolutionize. Long live the NFL brotherhood amiright?
