Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

T. Green has 2TDs and 3ints in the last 3 games. Am I missing something? He’s a talented runner but that’s about it. Oh, and 6 of his 12 passing TDs this year were made against the almighty Alabama St. in week 1.

I don’t care how many passing yards they have that offense is just as bad as that defense. They flat out gave up against Notre Dame at home so I don’t see much changing on the road.

It shows about 4 or 5 calls he (david smith) missed while ref'n TN games. . . then Beck false start, etc.
I'd like to see that ..... if you can find a video that works.

*Danny White needs to be showing Sankey, the head of officials, the FBI, the CIA, the Shriners, really anyone that will listen, what's happening to not just us, but to the conference. (Like they don't already know). The other conference ADs need to step up to. Looking for information about the officiating crews is almost impossible and the conference is making it that way. The fans are getting screwed again.

If DW wants to charge for a premo product, he needs to do everything he can to make sure the game is "on the level".

Interesting Week 6 lineup

Kentucky at 12 Georgia - this one might get real ugly for Stoops...ya know Kirby is gonna try to light a bonfire under his team
Miss State at 6 A&M - GO DAWGS!!! I am very hopefully that they run A&M out of the damn building
9 Texas at Florida - This might be that "upset alert" game of the week...Texas still hasn't looked good against a team with a pulse, this is their first road game since laying an egg at Ohio State. Florida is a dumpster fire, but their defense hasn't given up more than 1 passing TD to anyone yet and they haven't allowed 400 total yards once. They also played at LSU and at Miami. They might give Arch fits the whole game.
16 Vandy at 10 Bama - Can they both get beat? I want Bama to be in a dogfight the next 2 weeks but also want them to stay a 1 loss so we can hand them their 2nd. Also Vandy starting to believe the hype from can crushing to 5-0, expecting them to have a rough 2nd half of the season with their schedule

We’re not getting a night game this year, are we?

I'm not real sure...I thought 3:30pm was the "best slot" for SEC games, or at least that's the one the conference wants the best matchup usually.

If that's the case I think these could be possible night games.

Oct 18: at Bama...my assumption would be 3:30 would be Ole Miss at Georgia
Nov 1: vs OU...unless they slot us at 3:30, the other matchup to watch is Vandy at Texas since both are top 20 teams as of now...I expect Vandy might be going into Texas with a couple losses though so may fall outside top 25
Nov 22: at Florida...just 4 SEC games that weekend and I think they'll want Mizzou at OUR or Arkansas at Texas for the 3:30 slot

I assumed he meant a night game at home. Would not be shocked at all to get night games at both AL and FL.

Gator fans are already angry that when Billy is fired Scott Stricklin will make the next hire, now there are Florida Blue Check accounts saying Stricklin will never hire the #1 guy the fan base wants them to hire.

Kiffin tried very hard to broker interviews at Florida, Miami, and Oregon when they were open. None of them even called him/his agent back.

We could also have a Heisman winner. This is a case where the media would jump on it because of the story it would be. What Joey has accomplished despite it all is remarkable.

- No offers out of high school
- About to quit and be a firefighter
- Drives 90 minutes each way to play JUCO for 2 years
- Appalachian State gives him a chance
- Wins job and throws for more NCAA yards than anyone in 2 years
- Gets dream opportunity at UCLA in front of family
- Dream scenario chases Nico and kicks him to the curb. He's used to rejection and doubters. This kid is unbreakable. Mentally tough. His parents deserve a lot of credit here for the young man they raised. He DOES NOT QUIT again.
- Lands at Tennessee by the grace of God and finds himself in QB battle
- Wins starting job to little fanfare
- Told by national media he sucks, throws too many picks, and Tennessee will struggle to make a bowl game
- Has us at 4-1 and probably should be 5-0. Smashing records. Believes in himself, his Lord, and his teammates. Trusts WR's to make plays. Takes hits. Blocks, Runs. Forgets mistakes quickly.

If Joey Aguilar takes us to the playoffs, he should win the Heisman, period. They can have their freaking 5-stars and preseason hype. We have what we deserve. A leader that resembles us. Forgotten, spit on, ridiculed, and might just come out on top.
DUDE!!!👏🏻🙌🏻👊🏻🍊

View attachment 777558One guy between Star and the endzone. What does Mike do? Keeps his eyes on star instead of head hunting. Would have been 6. Mike at this point deserves more criticism than Boo. Not hating on him though. Dude is legit.
The little things are the difference between good teams and great teams.

One of these jobs is not like the others. One of these jobs just doesn't belong.

I don't think he'd take the UF job. I don't think he would have taken it last year versus where he is already. He has a great contract at Ole Miss that pays him 9 m/yr and extends him a year every year he wins 7 regular season games. That's incredibly low pressure. And his buyout if a better opportunity was to come calling is among the most-managable in the country at a reported 4 million dollars. He can afford to wait for the right job. One that's actually an upgrade from where he is.
