Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Happy Monday

September 29, 2025: For those who feel like you cannot make any headway, that you are just grinding away without breaking through, we break and negate every curse and assignment against you, and we command every demon to flee right now in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We call forth the provision and blessing of God Almighty and give thanks for His goodness. AMEN. James 5:14-17 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Well, elite teams are decided by what happens on the field.

I would say they have played a team that is more talented than them on paper by a significant margin, and they beat that team by 24 on the road.
Do you mean the game where the opposing starting QB, who is by far their best player, getting knocked out of the game in the first quarter? Is this the one?

Heisman frontrunners

1. Dante Moore Oregon +750
2. Jeremiah Smith Ohio State +1000
Carson Beck Miami +1000
Ty Simpson Alabama +1000
Fernando Mendoza Indiana +1200

Changes from week to week..

Picture perfect example of “running through the tackel”🫣😵‍💫
Those State fans talking trash about their QB who got up from that and kept fighting for his team - that’s a delusional fan. Their QB is one tough dude - I’d still be laying on that field after the mugging West laid on him.

Neither of our teams made the postseason. Your Mets choked it away.
Mets have been complete ass since July. Not a shock

I know a wide receiver that has better stats than Jeremiah Smith, and has made way more of an impact… but, nothing to see here. I don’t see how you can have some of these quarterbacks on this list and not have our quarterback who has played two SEC games (including Georgia) and another power four team in the first five games and has better stats than most or all of these quarterbacks.

hahaha we very well could have the biletkinoff award winner and the butkus award winner on the same team this year, talk about a recruiting pitch

and yes I know I probably butchered the spelling of the names
We could also have a Heisman winner. This is a case where the media would jump on it because of the story it would be. What Joey has accomplished despite it all is remarkable.

- No offers out of high school
- About to quit and be a firefighter
- Drives 90 minutes each way to play JUCO for 2 years
- Appalachian State gives him a chance
- Wins job and throws for more NCAA yards than anyone in 2 years
- Gets dream opportunity at UCLA in front of family
- Dream scenario chases Nico and kicks him to the curb. He's used to rejection and doubters. This kid is unbreakable. Mentally tough. His parents deserve a lot of credit here for the young man they raised. He DOES NOT QUIT again.
- Lands at Tennessee by the grace of God and finds himself in QB battle
- Wins starting job to little fanfare
- Told by national media he sucks, throws too many picks, and Tennessee will struggle to make a bowl game
- Has us at 4-1 and probably should be 5-0. Smashing records. Believes in himself, his Lord, and his teammates. Trusts WR's to make plays. Takes hits. Blocks, Runs. Forgets mistakes quickly.

If Joey Aguilar takes us to the playoffs, he should win the Heisman, period. They can have their freaking 5-stars and preseason hype. We have what we deserve. A leader that resembles us. Forgotten, spit on, ridiculed, and might just come out on top.

Does he have to sleep out there too?
No, he was just ineffective.

I dont know for sure but I question if he's an SEC LB. those RB were good but we made them look all world. Ideally your DL could bump em, or get a paw. Then backers wouls finish em off. We just are slow, cant get off blocks, are out of position, and generally not good there. Arion Carter has how many tackles?

I recall a play in particular. Arion formed tackled the back for 4 yards. Thinking that dude is playing like four positions.

Sellers is not their best player 😂.

It's inconceivable to lose to them when you have so much better players, but you're one injury away (at halftime btw) from getting blown out at home? Okay. I'm not chasing goalposts. Like I said, we've got an entire season for you guys to come to grips with the fact that they are an above average SEC team this year.

Must be who you beat the previous week. Moore went to Penn State and won with Oregon and shot up to top. Simpson won in Georgia... When Aguilar beats Alabama at Tuscaloosa , then his name should rise to top or at least near it...

I was talking about why his neighbor had to watch the game in the garage? Didn’t know if that was code for Dog House

In order to win the award, you almost have to be a guy that was tabbed before the season started as a favorite to win the award. The Heisman is a promotional and marketing vehicle for the sport, and has been for a long time. It's pretty rare that a guy comes out of nowhere and wins the Heisman.

There have been guys that have done it, like Johnny Manziel, but it takes a truly special season to get people's attention if they weren't really paying attention to you before the season began.
