Aguilar only has 5 ints.It was a very weird game yesterday, I’m just glad we survived. Didn't think Heupel coached well at all, but it’s growth that the team still found a way to win on the road against a mediocre team despite all the sloppy play and mistakes.
Joey was elite. Hate that 5 of his 6 INTs are not even his fault really yet on his stat line. Brazzell is a baller. Staley had his first “freshman” game of his young career. Surprised at how easily State ran the ball on us, but hoping when we get Hobbs back it helps.
Balanced team that plays hard. Similar to Miss St IMO. Could look similar if we don't play our best.Is Vandy for real? I haven’t watched a second of any of their games but they are 5-0 and scoring a ton of points. Nico looked like a legit QB against them last year and our defense bottled up Pavia. But our defense is worse this year and their offense seems to be a lot better. Hopefully that won’t even enter “interesting” territory and we cruise to a W at home.
Really needed bama to lose to uga.Mizzou, Vandy, Oklahoma, Ole Miss are pretenders.
A&M has a favorable schedule, Bama will likely be in the championship game.
Can we afford a lose to Alabama is the real question here in that scenario.
My 4 SEC teams in the playoffs currently are Bama, Georgia, A&M & Tennessee.
I don’t think we need to win out but it’s fairly important that uga and bama do (besides hopefully a loss to us at home). And need others to lose some games: tamu, Texas, lsu, ole miss, Ou (especially the first 4 listed since we don’t play them).TN won’t make it in if it comes down to us plus those 4. Especially if it’s 2-loss us and a 2-loss UGA and/or Bama, even if we beat Bama in Tuscaloosa.
Basically, we gotta win out to get in.
If they play like they did last night, especially the first half, they wont lose any of those games.Something not being discussed, Lebby knew how to slow down our offense. Part of why we didn't have a great day running the ball. He picked his poison and had there been a bit less drops probably would've been a bigger win. But first road game that sh*t happens.
And Coleman Hutzler also needs some more credit as a good DC.
I'm really hoping the schedule for Bama works in our favor, but after winning at Georgia I'm sure they'll jump us in the polls and we'll stay behind Georgia.
Bama is playing Vandy then going to Missouri and then hosting us with a trip to South Carolina the next week. They're likely going to lose at least 1 of these next 4 I just want it to be us.
He missed some deep balls he shouldn’t have and had some head scratching misses on would be 3rd down conversions. He turned up and came up big in second half but I wouldn’t say it was his best game.Listened to Volquest before I got to watch the replay.
Eric Cain said Joey had a so so game.... Um...he was elite. What a dumb take and I really don't blame him for the Kitselman drops. Yeah ball placement wasn't perfect, but it shouldn't have to be and it unlikely on those types of throws. If Joey wasn't able to make those throws we woulda lost the game. The game tying drive was some elite stuff.
Wouldn't trade Joey or Brazzell for anyone.
Mississippi State is 5 million times better this year, but my goodness the mental errors were egregious, we aren't getting enough penetration in the middle and Carter is the only LB playing at a high level.
I still think if everything that could go wrong didn't go wrong we would have crushed them. The first two drives they had, our defense was all over them. The only way they stopped us was refs, Stayley punt return and drops.
Like...I think we start up 14-0 If Stayley doesn't botch it. The Mike drop, Two deflected anomalous picks and the Brazzell bs PI call.
State was running the ball well, but had we gotten them in a hole early, they pass more and their pass pro sucked.
Time to polish things up over the bye. Joey won't be watching a UCLA game at the wilted rose bowl, it's a revenge game, it's at home and thus we destroy Arkansas next.
Meh. I still stand by my assessment from last night. I think Bama is good, but I don’t think they’re great. And I don’t think this is the UGA of old. We let them beat us because we got scared, they are not as strong as they look. So I’m not overly worried about that Bama game outside of us getting there and playing like we do on the road. That worries me more than it being Bama.If they play like they did last night, especially the first half, they wont lose any of those games.
They are ab to play some real teams so we will seeIs Vandy for real? I haven’t watched a second of any of their games but they are 5-0 and scoring a ton of points.
