Mississippi State had a really good first half against Arizona State, but the ASU offense started to figure somethings out in the second half. A couple things of interest is that ASU started to find success running out of the pistol and in 12 personnel in the second half.

I posted that because it was specifically stated in an article that his surgery was scheduled for Wed, Oct 1. It didn't say "next Wednesday". It said Wednesday, Oct 1. The writer of that article could have been an idiot, or they could have changed the scheduled date, but I only posted it because it was specifically stated. Considering my source was an ESPN article, I lean toward the idiot explanation. The ESPN article currently posted no longer references Oct 1.I saw someone posted earlier that Mateer’s surgery is next Wednesday but from what I read I think it’s actually today.
Georgia is really the only one to look at when it comes to scoring defense. Both Cuse and UAB scored all their points on 3rd-4th teamersOne thing to keep in mind 4 games in and 2 were cupcakes...
The good news Syracuse seems pretty damn good, and obviously Georgia game has confidence really high.
BUT defense has a lot of improvement...even if ya just toss the Dawgs game out they're still giving up 22.3 PPG, 2nd highest in Banks' tenure here...I just hope being young/inexperienced and banged up is the reason and we see them improve each week.
Although our schedule doesn't give us many breaks.
Total Offense in SEC
8th Miss State
5th Arkansas
6th Bama
Georgia is 9th...so these next 3 games are gonna be big for the defense, the good news is getting that BYE week after Saturday. It eases up though as only Vandy left on the schedule is top 10 in total offense.
No doubt defense looks like a team missing draft picks because they are. Add in they've been playing too many damn snaps and tbh it is more like 2022 just due to AVAILABLE talent not lack of it.One thing to keep in mind 4 games in and 2 were cupcakes...

Yeah I'm not surprised that he's having significant success at all. It was in the tape. Him having a strong arm, reading defenses, going through progressions, getting the ball out of his hands quickly and accurately. I assumed Aguilar would have gaudy stats and be in the upper echelon. Didn't see so many guys struggling though. After watching him play last year, and looking at those 6800 yards and 56 passing touchdowns in 2 seasons, I definitely called my shot on him and Heupel meshing (much to the chagrin of the FF). Putting him at the very bottom of the list is just lazy analysis. If there was any analysis at all
Wrap Rodney in bubble wrap.
It's really early though and most of those teams have played some really weak defenses out of conference. Can't really tell much from looking at that in isolation. Bama, for instance, did not look great on offense vs. FSU. Arkansas put most of their yards up against Arkansas St and Alabama A&M. We don't know how good Mississippi State really is yet. Their toughest game was ASU and we know nothing about them yet either. They put up 63 on Alcorn St.One thing to keep in mind 4 games in and 2 were cupcakes...
