Sad.

What was the reason JA6 left? The head coach leaving to UCF? Portal shop for NIL money?
I think a combo of all of the above. That entire team (not just Joey) regressed last season after having a pretty good 2023 and they came into 2024 the favorite to win the Sun Belt East - not sure what happened but they didn't have a great season, Clark was fired, and a lot of the guys transferred.

Possibly a combination of coach being fired, NIL money and wanting to prove himself in a power 4 conference. Then there's him originally transferred to UCLA, so he being closer to family could have been another factor originally.

Based on permanent opponents and who we played this year/who we last played at home/away, 2026 gonna be

Away games:
Vandy
A&M
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Georgia Tech

Home games:
Bama
UK
Auburn
Missouri
Texas
Furman
Kennesaw State

Missouri may get subbed out with LSU since we haven't played LSU since 2022 but played Mizzou in 2023.

Subject to change, of course, but this makes sense for the Vols at least.
VERY tough schedule--- when was the last time we went a season without playing FL?

Once we abandoned divisional play in the SEC it created opportunity for Tennessee’s schedule to get easier. We’ve been brutalized for so long that 2024-2025 have been a reprieve. As we move forward some years will be difficult because of the draw, but other schools will also face similar difficulty. Other teams won’t be able to hide like they have in the past.
