He could be, down the road. Who knows what he’ll look like in 2-3 years.

But he’s not part of the future here. He’s headed elsewhere at the end of the season - and I’ll wish him all the best.

We’re wasting reps.

Maybe if we hadn’t wasted reps on the no-count backup last year (who had EaRnEd ThEm!!!) - Merk wouldn’t look as bad as he does.
Considering Merk stayed in the game even after playing poorly, kind of have to believe it was redshirt related.

You've got three more games for GMac to play if you plan on preserving that redshirt. Makes me wonder if they've got serious plans to play him if Aguilar goes down.

In fairness:
-people had valid concerns about aguilar’s turnover tendencies. He’s fixed them
-plew is still a solid back
-wr’s were bad last year, was only natural to assume that they would’ve been bad this year especially with the depth concerns
-heard and brazzell struggled last year, but have obviously improved

- people didn’t take into account Heup being his coach vs some APP ST coach
- he is, he’s also RB3
- they were. Almost none of them are here anymore. It’s only natural to assume they’d be bad if you don’t have the brain power to realize every year is different and last year doesn’t mean jack
- Heard was literally hurt. And then out of shape due to being hurt. That information was there but most chose to ignore it. Brazzell has improved for sure. And that flies directly in the face of the bad take “Pope isn’t a good WR coach”.

IMO the biggest issue with Texas & that offense is Arch is your 2nd leading rusher in yards & carries...

You've played San Jose State (1-2), UTEP (1-2), & Sam Houston (0-4)....why in the hell is Arch your 2nd leading rusher?!

The biggest issue with Texas & that offense is Arch.

They are poo at running the ball tho. So maybe that is issue #1.

But Arch has been missing wide open throws. Gotta make the easy ones.

Arch 4 games in this season: 65 of 106 for 61.3%, 888 passing yards, 9 TDs 3 INTs with 28 carries for 123 yards and 5 TDs

Nico first 4 games last season: 61 of 88 for 69.3%, 892 passing yards, 7 TDs 2 INTs with 25 carries for 117 yards and 1 TD

Difference in those 2 is Nico got to hide behind a great defense and Dylan Sampson

First Monday Night Football game.

On Sept. 21, 1970, TV fans weren’t quite as fired up for the first “Monday Night Football” broadcast, which made its debut on ABC, with the Cleveland Browns defeating the New York Jets 31-21. The first broadcast featured Keith Jackson, Howard Cosell and “Dandy” Don Meredith. Frank Gifford replaced the venerable Jackson a year later, and he returned to college football, thank goodness.

The NFL was beginning its 51st season and had completed its merger with AFL. A Monday night prime-time game was the next big project and it clicked from the start.

It was a bit of a gamble. Historically, high school football was contested on Friday nights, with college football on Saturdays, and pro football on Sundays. But it proved to be a success. Historians say movie attendance dropped on Mondays and bowling centers moved their leagues to other nights.

Yeah Nico also sucked.

Put up numbers vs out-manned teams.

The defensive line will be better than lats year.

Willie Martinez is our best coach.

Secondary is championship level.

Shoot you can make fun of me if ya like I was a Merklinger truther lol.

I thought hey longer period time in CJH’s offense = better QB play but that is obviously far from the truth. What I’ve learned is if a guy is going to be a successful QB under Josh it doesn’t take more than a few games to find out.
