What are the worst takes about Vol football you saw coming into the season? The ones I saw here:

- Aguilar won’t be good + Merk will win the job
- P Lew is RB1
- WR room will suck overall
- Brazzell is a portal bust
- Pope is a bad WR coach & recruiter
- Lance Heard sucks and is a portal bust

In fairness:
-people had valid concerns about aguilar’s turnover tendencies. He’s fixed them
-plew is still a solid back
-wr’s were bad last year, was only natural to assume that they would’ve been bad this year especially with the depth concerns
-heard and brazzell struggled last year, but have obviously improved

I get that that CFB Home account really hates Tennessee (whoever runs it has made it abundantly clear repeatedly), but if Tennessee isn’t even a top 25 team, how does one justify having UGA at 2 when they gave up 41 points to that non-top 25 team and needed a miracle to even win it?

i dont care about rankings until week 8. i suggest you all do the same.

we are going to beat the brakes off of miss state and arkansas and likely not move an inch in these rankings. it will take us beating bama again to move into the top 10 and even then likely just at 10. give it a win vs Oklahoma before we are top 8 and then the talking heads will start to go, "wow, is tennessee legit this year? crazy, they came out of nowhere!"... this narrative will also aid them in their heistman discussions giving them reason to leave joey out of it

many of you realize this but some still need teaching--and that's ok! but the talking heads know that angry tennessee fans = clicks = revenue = how they handle our fanbase

it just is what it is and i suggest you ignore it for a few more weeks minimum

I heard someone mention the other day that instead of recruiting highly ranked kids out of high school, we should focus on getting quarterbacks from the portal who fit our system. After watching Swaguilar and other teams this season, I agree. You would still need to recruit quarterbacks, but they would not have to be highly ranked.

I've thought like this for a minute. Probably the same with OL. Pluck the guys out of the portal who have proven they are good. You can only get 3-5 guys though, since everyone will be doing this soon and there aren't many tier 1 guys in the portal.
