My vote is for that exact thing to happen. Keep Napier there as long as possible.

The gist of this story is that UCLA can't compete because wealthy alumni don't care enough about the football program but that this problem is somehow fixable if they just get the right hire.

It's dumb. The investment much come before the coach. If you're just investing in a bloated coaching contract that guarantees a guy tens of millions to fail, then you can't expect that to fix a lack of investment in the program. You're just trying to patch over the problem with TV money.

Right now, they are the Iowa of the SEC with a good defense and lackluster offense

Bill Meyer Stadium ! Living within 3 miles of the K-Jays park, I went to probably close to 50 games , beginning with KnoxSox games in the 70's until the Carlos Delgado and Alex Fernandez Smokies days in the 90's.

Man, getting Delgado was the coolest thing ever. Remember buying up his cards anywhere I could.

My wife and I went to a K-Jays game on our first date back in 1991. Used to go all the time.

A few years ago when visiting Knoxville we stepped into Nothing Too Fancy over by Market Square and they had K-Jays shirts so we each bought one. Still makes me happy that we got those!
