Do you think Nico is kicking himself in the azz right now? He literally could not have made a worse decision.
It says in the book that a man should have sober judgement, and Dave Mustaine says "A man has to know his limitations, so Nico is sweating bullets."
What a favor he did us. If Aguilar could
come back, pay him $4 mil. Lol

Vandy…Bama…hopefully Kentucky but ok with SC.

it better be Kentucky. We can't let the SEC screw us out of a rival and goes the same for UK. The competitive balance worries are horse manure. You literally can't have an easy schedule. It will balance out. ppl are dumb.

I've heard that the main focus for McCoy is being 100% healthy, but also 100% in condition to play. I asked about the agent stuff and the guy said he has heard nothing like that. If anything, someone is telling him to be sure that he is 100% across the board so he can pick up playing at the same level as last year.

I would've posted about it when I first asked, but didn't want anyone to get sand in their panties and accuse me of calling them a liar.
Can’t blame McCoy for not wanting to put bad tape out there if he’s not ready. The ACL tear was still pretty recent. Very few guys are ready to go physically and mentally this quickly.

Looking at it from Kentucky's point of view we are the only sec rivalry they have. If they don't play us they lose their only hate game.

Yeah, it's got to be Kentucky for one of them and the Bama game is just too big and historic. Vanderbilt doesn't have many natural rivals either and they are getting decent to where perhaps the SEC feels that's enough balance. I couldn't imagine that game not being played every year.

That was the original plan...take Blue Ridge from Cherokee and head north...but also couldn't find good info saying how open it was. But Newfound Gap Road is supposed to be open and will take us from Gatlinburg over to Cherokee so should be a nice drive itself.

What I kept seeing looking at reviews and such.

Plan right now is likely check out Oconaluftee Indian Village & probably the Museum of the Cherokee People...eat some NC BBQ then head to Casino.

It actually looks like everything west of Asheville looks open, looking glass rock is pretty cool. Graveyard fields is an easy hike and there are several pull offs with an elevation around 6k. The blue ridge parkway site shows all of the work Northeast of Asheville

What is this fanbase's obsession with rushing valuable players back onto the field when they aren't healthy yet? Do you guys really want to risk a more serious injury right before the Bama game? Jeez

Whispers “a lot of fans don’t actually care about the players”

I think Heup made two real mistakes there late and I'm not going to criticize him for them...

#1 He trusted the defense too much, he really thought that if he could get up 8, that the game was probably over barring a huge play, and the defense had been playing much better since the 1st 3rd qt drive...I totally understand that call.

#2 He had 100% faith in Max...which is why that last sequence went like it did...once again I totally get it, he had zero reason to doubt Max..he has been a great kicker.

I doubt he makes those two mistakes again this year....I know I wouldn't.
Good take, but I think I disagree. In the post-turnover series, UGA basically dared Tennessee to run: 6 defenders against 8 Tennessee players in the box. Any throw would have been into double coverage. On top of that, Tennessee was already in field goal range and near the end of the game. Yeah, in hindsight, three runs didn’t work—but it took a confluence of penalties, missed blocks, and good plays by the other team to keep Tennessee from converting a first down. If similar events had happened in the pass game—like a missed block or a big defensive play—you might be looking taking a sack or worse. In the end, getting 3 points and running down the clock is a species of success, even if not the dagger you wanted.

As for trusting the kicker, I thought Huepel was playing game control. Winning by kicking is the most likely result, and he got his team into position by taking a minimum number of risks.

Kirby clearly wanted to make Huepel run plays at the end. He called timeouts just to make Tennessee make decisions and snap the ball, all but daring Huepel to take a risk. Maybe Huepel could have been more aggressive in the face of these timeouts, but I think he had a plan and stuck with it. He ended up taking the game down to a situation where Tennessee could not lose in regulation and had a good chance to win. That’s good coaching—even if it’s not perfect in hindsight.

I think Huepel is a better coach when he’s coaching from behind. The pressure is real.

I think the parkway just opened north of Asheville to Mt Mitchell.
