Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Man we hit that 1 fg and we're top 7 and in every WTE CFP prediction.

Some of the pain of losing is what could have been, even if just praise for our coach and program. Is what it is, but damn we let one get past us.

But also credit to UGA, that 4th and bomb over the shoulder catch was absurd. I swear the football gods had it in for us that game. Flat out silly play ughhhhh so stupid it worked for them

For clarity…how would yall feel about this?👀🤣🤣🤣

It’s going to be interesting to see which programs show interest in paying $1M+ for a guy who was groomed for 1.5 years to be the UT QB then produced very pedestrian tape for a whole season then makes a drama filled exit to another program where once again he was very pedestrian. Maybe another program thinks they can coach him up and rolls the dice, but team Nico is still blaming everyone else and they have a much higher perception of his NIL value than the market IMO. Still looks like we caught a break when he decided to leave.

5 minutes into movie called Land of Bad and a whole room gives a “Go Vols!” New favorite. Netflix
That's the movie where they all sit around and watch the Vols during March Madness, but the troop leader was an OSU fan?

Imagine being an OSU basketball fan (or literally anything outside of football) what a sad existence 🤣

Pate has us 19th.

His power rating has us 9th.
Yes the power rating is the real "who's the best". Not sure what the #19 is. Just like AP BS I assume. Punish teams for brutally close losses, even though you now know they're better than before the game.

Rankings are dumb. Everything should be a power rating. Though it seems the AP is turning the corner on this. ND is still ranked, rightfully so based on the quality of losses. Similar to UT staying put (should have gone up though in reality if you're saying UGA is top 5).

The 19 is his ranking.

The 9 is a power rating. Who would be favored on a neutral field.

Agree rankings are dumb until CFP rankings drop.

Disagree that ND should be ranked.

If he'd stop panicking, trust the OL (which will also likely get him killed at UCLA), and get through his reads, he may be alright.

I have never seen anyone mess their career up so bad in less than 4 months. He was sitting shotgun inside of a gold mine and crushed it like an empty diet-rite can.
So basically, if he’ll become the exact opposite of what he’s been for 2 years then he’ll be alright?

That was the original plan...take Blue Ridge from Cherokee and head north...but also couldn't find good info saying how open it was. But Newfound Gap Road is supposed to be open and will take us from Gatlinburg over to Cherokee so should be a nice drive itself.

What I kept seeing looking at reviews and such.

Plan right now is likely check out Oconaluftee Indian Village & probably the Museum of the Cherokee People...eat some NC BBQ then head to Casino.
Haywood is closer to Texas bbq ironically enough. But it's still amazing. The brisket is some of the best in the state. NC has many better places for pulled pork though.

Do you think Nico is kicking himself in the azz right now? He literally could not have made a worse decision.
It says in the book that a man should have sober judgement, and Dave Mustaine say "A man has to know his limitations, so Nico is sweating bullets."

Does he even care? I’m not sure he even cares about football just watching his body language at UCLA.

I bet he cares. Sometimes folks just dont have the stuff, to be leaders. And ultimately that's the stuff of what QBs are made of.

If we as parents dont let our children learn and grow. How will they ever reach their potential?
