Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I have an confession to make; I was not able to watch the game as I spent the weekend in ICU dealing with an infected kidney which was shutting down. I returned home yesterday after getting the problem turned around.

All this said, I know better then coming to the land of fragile flowers after the game on Monday but I was in need of info on game. This site gets overrun by fans(?) who I would not share a foxhole with in time of stress. Grow the f..k up and deal with life and all the ups and downs.

The best lesson I learned in business was when I was hired by an ICON in my profession. We were talking one day and I asked him why he allowed the younger employees to make so many dumb mistakes. His reply was if I don't how will they learn to think. These are all teaching lessons.

Under Hype has the product not gotten better? Are they not a fun style to watch? Now go tell your dog about your past glory as a kid or go shout in the wind how you should be a coach with all your knowledge.

End Rant

Some good video to look at after the UGA turnover and how the UGA D-line made plays against the UT O-line at a critical time in the game.

Two things really stuck out to me:

1. Had no idea Miles Kitselman screwed up so badly. Twice. Dang.
2. Star Thomas would have been the better RB in that situation.

That's been my issue with the drive. If they were going to try to catch GA off-balance with running plays, put your most explosive and hottest back in. That was an alignment screw-up in the context of how they were going to attack GA.

Like your post says that coaches know more than any player ever and they are uninformed speculation.
Yet another mischaracterization. Heupel was a player, so clearly that logic don't hunt.

Since your player buddies clearly know, please enlighten me:
1. What was Tennessee's detailed gameplan? Not what you saw on TV, but the planning behind it?
2. Since you likely know that, I'm curious...how many man-hours went into planning? Given the number of non-coach advisors on staff, I'm sure it was a bunch.
3. What adjustments did UGA make that shut us down in Q2, and what adjustments did UT make to start moving the ball again in the 2nd half?
4. What was the exact status of every player? Not at the start of the game, but before every play that you disagreed with?
5. What was the exact percentage that Max hits from left hash, 35 yards out? What about 40? How does that compare to center or right hash?
6. What were your thoughts on the refs? How did that play into your thesis?
7. How about the 100 other details that Heupel knows that none of the rest of us do. Please, don't hold back.

I'm not saying people don't know football, I'm saying they don't know all the details that went into that moment.

I've run my own company for 33 years. For 33 years I've had people second guess my decisions. Very few of them are as good as me. Some are better. None have all the information I have. It matters.

I love my greens 🥬 but Kale… here’s your git shirt. 🗑️
I use it in a chicken feta quinoa mix. You need to wet it or cook it to make it more palatable. It’s too tough and bitter otherwise.

Quinoa, chicken, feta, apples, and a mustard balsamic salad dressing. It’s delicious.

You're not wrong but he did get more out of those guys than you would expect given what they did at other stops. George looks promising and Brandon right after.
Exited about what I'm hearing regarding George and Brandon seems to have what it takes. We learned with Nico and Milton that raw athletic ability are not enough. Find that guy that seems to have the intangilbes.

I think the first play is on Miles. The second is a big ask: most TEs will struggle against a 3-4 DE when the DEs assignment is to stack up the counter. It’s just a physics equation.

Carrying a counter wide when it’s stacked up is risky in that situation. The RB would have to give ground well behind the line of scrimmage and lose some speed. It might really hit outside, but the defense is rallying and the pulling OL are static. Losing yards puts you in third and long and may cost you a shot at a FG. Sticking your foot in the ground and getting positive yards sure seems smart to me.

I don't think there were any of us that thought that Hooker would end up being as good as he was. What little was known was pretty meh. Coaches know what they see in practice. Obviously there are some practice warriors (both Nico and Joe, I suspect) and there are gamers. No real experience, but I'd guess that most guys perform better in practice than in games, so the gamers are a bit of a blind spot for the coach.

GOAT, first to break 48s in 40 years. IMO, this is the real world record. Koch was a doper

She's probably my favorite Olympian I can remember. I'll never forget that 400m relay where she just dusted the entire field on her leg, over half a lap lead. I've never seen such a dominant performance at that level.

And she's a decent person, seems like a good role model.

So is the reason Heupel’s QBs don’t have success in NFL from Tennessee because he hasn’t had great talent or his system? Didn’t you just admit he is finally getting better talent and hasn’t he coached up talent to NFL levels before using his system?
I don't get why people don't understand that the NFL does not give a rat's hairy about system. It is all about tools and mental make up. Someone tell me how Wyoming and Texas Tech were pro style offenses? They produced the two best qbs in the League. Did Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes translate to the League?
Jimmies and Joes, end of story.
