He may screw around and get one. 2 Biletnikof awards in Heupel's first 5 years. . . would be wild if he got the Biletnikof and Aguilar gets the Heisman. How many times have both awards gone to the same team?

*Happened once before. Devonta Smith won the Biletnikof and the Heisman in the same year.
They aren’t giving the Heistman to a Vol bro.

The weakest link on the OL to this point is Umarov. And the OL has still been good. Sanders getting back 100% at some point and allowing us to move Perry to LG is only going to make this OL even more dominate.
Assuming Sanders is as good as or better than Perry at RT, which is a tall task iyam.

I was thinking about this earlier this morning and wanted to get y’all’s thoughts.

What are the chances Heupel brings in a 4th or 5th-year senior, like Aguilar, this year to help bridge the gap to GMac or Faizon? We’ve seen how much better the offense looks with a veteran who can make the right reads and play without overthinking. My concern is whether a second-year MacIntyre or a true freshman Faizon will be mentally ready to run the offense at the level we saw under Hendon, or even how it seems to be operating now with Aguilar.

For the record, I think Merk probably transfers out. And while I don’t expect Heupel to bring in someone to directly compete for the job, I do think it’s an interesting debate worth having.
I don’t think they would want to go into the year with a true freshman and RS freshman as the only options, for depth or nothing else, but in the limited sample size GMac looks like the truth. It’s all about processing and getting the ball out on time in this offense and I think he has that ability.

First time I’ll be going to a game not drinking. The wife and I are trying to actually be able to soak it all in this time.
Any food, sight, experience recommendations?
Doing vol walk, going to Gus’, exploring the campus.
I like hanging out at Market SQ and catching the trolley over. There would be drinks in some of those restaurants if that is a deterrant, but there are also craft stands in the square and cool stores around. Take the trolley over early then like you said watch the volwalk, watch the band, and if desired hit the bookstore. That place usually just stresses me out though. Lol.

If the VOLS are 10-2 and don’t get in then you are probably saying the SEC only gets 2 in? No way. If the VOLS are 10-2 chances are at most there will be three 10-2 teams in SEC by my glancing at schedules. Just don't see VOLS missing at 10-2 especially one of those 2 being OT loss to Ugly.
They are in at 10-2 regardless. The more realistic question, is there a path to being in at 9-3? There are so many scenarios that would play into that situation that it's a waste of time to even ponder. Just control what you can control and try to win the rest of your games. That's a tall order but you at least proved you can go toe to toe with the elite teams. I personally think the defense has to get some injured players back and make some huge improvements for us to get to the promised land. This defense year to date is not in the same universe of what we had last year. On the positive side the offense appears to be dramatically improved. It's still early and there is a lot of football to be played and no team is close to a finished product. It's fun to be in the mix, which in the SEC is about all you can realistically hope for. Go Vols.

I never thought he’d be a scrub. I thought he’d be good/average/serviceable. Like a rung or 2 above Nico at the least. I agree with you I didn’t think I’d be watching a guy come in and light up Georgias NFL defense after a few months in the system.

I thought HH was the greatest QB I’ve seen us have since the Iceman and even he wasn’t capable of that. Joey just gets it. He has all the intangibles and he’s played so long that defenses aren’t able to confuse him or shake him. Saturday was the best defense he’s gonna play all year. There’s no reason to believe that was a standalone performance.
Not necessarily disagreeing, but I would like to see what Hendon could have done with the same line play Joey got against them.

Not really. Sanders needs to be better at RT than Umarov is at LG. I think if Sanders is healthy that is almost certainly the case. Even if Sanders is slightly worse at RT than Perry the difference will be made up by the fact that Perry will be a much better LG than Umarov.

I like Matthew’s intangibles also, but the number 1 thing a great WR does is catch the ball first and foremost. If MM can’t develop his hands to catch most everything that’s in his catch radius then I don’t see how CJH can agree to an elite WR NIL payment in light of the depth of the WR room. MM’s agent may come back with an offer from another program that we’re not willing to match. Hopefully MM quits dropping passes and becomes the elite WR he’s capable of being.
2 drops in the Syracuse game, but did he have any against ETSU? And he only had 1 "drop" against UGA, and that was the bullet from JA that really wasn't a great pass.

We’re probably not in at 9-3, not with this schedule at least

If you think MM has displayed “good hands” as a WR this season then I can respect that but would still agree to disagree. I like him as a player and I hope he catches everything near him the rest of the season.

What I'm saying is he did struggle in game 1 but has appeared to be doing better since. I think his stats would support this.

I agree that it's a long shot. I honestly see no scenario we don't make it at 10-2 though. The 9-3 scenario requires a lot of dominoes to fall our way. I say we just go 12-1 with a SEC championship that would make us the number one seed. A man can dream.
