I think Virginia tech would be a great stepping stone for him. The ACC is vulnerable right now. If Alex took over Virginia tech, they have a real shot at competing for the ACC championship every 3 years or so.

That would propel him for his next big job whenever it opens. I don't want to face him in the future so I'd like to see him at Penn State or Michigan

I think Virginia Tech would be a great spot for him. That way I can still root for him to do well and not have to worry about him facing the Vols. Plenty of talent in Virginia too. We can take the 5 stars and high fours, Golesh can have the rest

Also, what’s up with all our guys cramping up last Saturday? I didn’t notice many GA players having that issue. Thought maybe because GA had more depth & their guys not playing as many snaps but I didn’t really pay attention to their rotations.

Also we have played Georgia & Syracuse while others have played schools that can barely afford to field a team

I believe the rotation should be Thomas (the bulk), Bishop, and Morris.

You are correct in that the lion is referred to as the “king of the jungle” - they are correct in that being dumb naming since lions don’t live in the jungle.

Faking injuries!!!1!1!1!!

obviously not. Cramps are legit injuries.

I will say this though: 19 went down with cramps and came back the same quarter (maybe the same drive) to make a huge play. If we had the rule many of you want—injured players out for the whole drive or quarter—he would likely have been sitting.

I think you misunderstand. UGA was playing a centerfield safety on the deep shot INT it got. Most cover 3 defenses have a safety as deep as the deepest WR with other coverage in front of them. The CBs pattern match. The ball flight time lets one safety help to the numbers on either side: he doesn’t have to commit to a side.

Playing cover 3 would give defenses more options in the middle, not fewer. UGA’s base scheme against UT the past few years has been cover 2 man or a form of quarters, which have a minimum of 4 pass-first defenders at the snap (normally more). Cover 3 just requires 3. The width of the old routes lessened the need for deep safety help, so safeties could play shallower to defend the alleys. Cover 3 also lets teams disguise their pressure, as they can rotate more freely from an open to closed look right at the snap.

Teams will have to adjust to this new look offense. I think you’ll see more single safety looks, maybe bringing a safety up for crossers or the TE.

There’s no perfect offense or defense. It’s just tradeoffs and adjustments everywhere, and it’s always execution—I think the CB on the first long TD was expecting safety help deep and inside. Heupel and JA got UGA twice deep when UGA wasn’t in the best defense to counter it. Gotta tip your hat.

I like Matthew’s intangibles also, but the number 1 thing a great WR does is catch the ball first and foremost. If MM can’t develop his hands to catch most everything that’s in his catch radius then I don’t see how CJH can agree to an elite WR NIL payment in light of the depth of the WR room. MM’s agent may come back with an offer from another program that we’re not willing to match. Hopefully MM quits dropping passes and becomes the elite WR he’s capable of being.
