Our defense is dead last in the conference in scoring defense and explosive plays, we gave up 7 pass plays of 20+ yards vs syracuse, 5 20+ yard plays vs etsu (3 called back for penalties), and while there’s no official # for against uga, I can remember at least 4 30+ yard plays and the game sealing 20 yard run in ot.

Im sure injuries play a part, but schematically theres an issue too. We left a true freshman on an island vs uga and he got bullied all day long.

We need to improve FAST

The amount of programs that can do what Georgia did and actually upgrade from an 8-10 win coach with occasional 11 in Mark Richt to one that routinely wins 11+ in Kirby Smart is basically zero. That was an insane gamble. Most every time, you are just blowing up the program for a lateral hire at best.

Richt would have had Georgia in the playoffs annually and probably would have won at least 1 with Stafford and Murray. Saban and Smart level dominance is almost impossible, and Smart's chokehold on talent is fading.

We are three games in.

At this point in the season, a single big play makes noticeable differences in all defensive rankings. Wait ~3 more weeks for rankings to normalize — By then I expect we are middle of the pack at worst.

I don't see this as a loss I see it as progress to where we ultimately want to be, beating the top dog in the conference again and taking over as the best. It warms my heart that we're close to being the hunted instead of the hunters.

It wasn't Gilbert's fault we came up short, it was a combination of things from poor execution on some plays to some key players being out. Yes, the officiating was questionable but it's like that in every game in college football.

i would rather lose a, close game we could've won instead of getting blown out and dominated like we had for the last 7 or 8 years vs Kirby Smart and Georgia. We will still make playoffs as long as we beat who we suppose to and take advantage of the Gators down in Florida and Alabama. I was skeptical of this team this year but after yesterday I see a really good team that will make waves in CFP...

It is kinda refreshing to see balls thrown in phase or a little under. We now have a quarterback who is not totally infatuated with their arm strength and is not deathly afraid of being picked off.
