Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

For whomever here may care... There is enough hate and unkindness in the world. We're not forced to add to it.

This sucks. It really does. That was a klick in the groin. (Pun intended.)

The good news is that we are a really good team that will get better as we play and injured players return. We can play with anyone in the country. We didn't really know that 5-6 hours ago. Find the good. Keep your chin up. Cheer on.

Georgia still better than us on the line of scrimmage. They win with the Jimmy’s and Joes not the X’s and O’s.

Offensive line is much better this year. Guess I’m not firing Ellarbee…………this week.

Big improvement by Brazzel this season…high pointing the ball like Calloway.

Impressed by our coaches given talent differential and injuries.

Receiver group is much improved this season….gonna have to hold off on firing Pope.
We can win with X & O's on offense. Defense...

It just sucks losing like that but this kind of thing can turn your locker room into dynamite to make a run. Defense improve and get healthy they’ll be in every game

Unloading on the kicker is a bit unfair. I don’t think he should’ve even been put in that position anyway with how nervous he looked on the sidelines
Why didn't the players and coaches get the camera out of his face? Freaking ABC just standing right next to him with the camera basically in his facemask

Lots of pressure for a kid his age. Again, he’s not a professional kicker. There were 50 other plays that could have been the same difference in the game. Ridiculous to put the blame squarely on him.
It’s his job. If he can’t handle the pressure, then he shouldn’t be on the team. We were in position to win. Got to make that kick.

Heupel was PISSED

I think Aguilar audibled out or just handed it off instead of being aggressive on RPO
This.

People can moan all they want about play calling, but we have no idea what the playcall actually was.

Could’ve been Aguilar not reading it right, could’ve been WR not running the correct route

Can’t believe I allowed myself to believe. I won’t do that again. We will always be good with Danny White as AD and what he does for sports, but I’m not sure Heupel is anything but an 8-10 win coach. That’s good but I want a title again one day.
Dude we had the game until the very end. A player jumping early and a missed kick doesn’t mean he has a ceiling.
Get your loser mentality out of here and grow a set.
We owned Georgia until our dark years and if anything today proves that he evolves as a coach. That gap in talent is almost nonexistent. So pick your head up and grit your teeth.
We are mother f)$kin UT.

My question now is “how do you move us down in the poll after this game?” We should at worst drop a spot or two. IMO, stay put.

I missed most of the second half and the end of the game for an event for my son. Decided to focus on my son instead of checking the score. Disappointed to see we had so many chances to win at the end and didn't do it. Glad to see we didn't get totally embarrassed by UGA again. I live in GA, so this one stings, but I'm going to fall back to hoping we can see them again this season. This team proved they have the pieces and will only improve as we get some guys back on defense. To put it into perspective...we used to get our ass kicked by lesser teams just five years ago and we knew there was no hope of winning anything after each of those whippings. Still hurts, but it's a better hurt than that was.

Stupid take. I hate he missed the kick but good luck finding someone else. He’s been solid but obviously that clutch gene may not be there.

vols will be just fine. drop a few spots but in the thick of a playoff spot.

get healthy and run the rest of the table.

GOVOLS
Thats the other funny thing.

FG goes in..."Vols #5"...

Since it didn't..."Vols #20"

Outcome-based silliness.

In other news, LSU is so overrated. Clemson already let us know that, but now we know again.

Most painful loss since ....... ? Can't remember, maybe when Mt. Cody blocked that FG, when Lane was here.

Btw, Star Thomas is our best back, needs to get the majority of carries in SEC games. Love the hometown boy, Bishop and PLew has mad potential, but as of right now, Thomas should be "The Man", imo.
Yea, I would like to see less kf bishop honestly. Falls too easily and doesnt have that twitch to make defenders miss

So should he face a firing squad because you’re immature? I think we should put the offensive lineman who couldn’t remember the snap count up with him. Anyway I will put you on ignore until you chill out and quit acting like a 3 year old.

Okay. I would have liked to see some more aggressive play calling late but he did play the percentages. I would think analytics would say you win 80% in that situation. That’s SEC football. We do have a good team and can play tie to tie with anyone. We were losing some important players on defense.
You’re up 8 with maybe 5-6 minutes to go. Coaches who are scared or subpar play the analytics game. Winners and those who are cutthroat go for the damn kill shot.
