Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I watched that last night...first of all, will Banks actually play aggressive against this stupid team for once?..and if he does, can we get real pressure, stop the run, cover the receivers with half our freaking defense out or beat to hell?

A lot of guys are super confident going into this, which I can not understand with all the injury crap we have going on. I think it will be extremely tough to pull this one out.

of course you dont think we can

I agree from UT's end. UGA people that I know are equally concerned. Right side of line, even if they play are not 100%. Safeties are not at the level they've been at and so far they've been afraid to open the playbook with Stockton. Somebody's gonna get right Saturday. Hope it's us.

Joel Klatt has such a hard-on for TN it's crazy...I'm still confused why he thinks he has any sort of authority to speak on the topic. Zero connection to Vols, SEC, or Nico but here he is jumping to say the dumbest things.

Briles QBs while at Baylor:
RG3 drafted 2nd overall, played in 56 games for 3 different NFL teams made a Pro Bowl and without the knee injury might still be in the league also won a Heisman
Bryce Petty drafted in the 4th round and played for 2 years

I don't know what Klatt's definition of "make it in the NFL" but checking the numbers, those 2 played a lot more than his ass ever did. Dude was ass at Colorado and now he's going to talk about an offense that has put more QBs in the league than the BS he ran under Gary Barnett.

Other QBs under Briles...

Kevin Kolb at Houston, played in 34 games in the NFL with 2 different teams in a career than spanned 6 years
Case Keenum at Houston, played in 80 games in the NFL with 7 different teams in a career than spanned 11 years

So actually if Klatt did any sort of research before spouting off at the mouth he'd realize than the 4 main starting QBs under Briles while he coached college all made the league, 3 of the 4 were drafted in the first 4 rounds, all 4 started at least 5 games while in the NFL and all 4 appeared in at least 10 games... 3 of the 4 threw for 5k yards and 25 TDs or more as well while in the league. That seems like they made it to me...far more than an undrafted QB out of Colorado who tossed nearly more INTs than TDs in his 3 year career.

Also...Colorado drama...

For those that don't keep up or pay attention. That 3rd string QB is Ryan Staub who went 7 of 10 for 2 TDs in a game that was 10-7 at the time he scored his first TD...final score was 31-7

THE RF INVITATIONAL COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANTASY LEAGUE IS WELL UNDERWAY. WE HAVE SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TEAMS. MANY, MANY POINTS ARE BEING SCORED. THERE ARE ALSO SOME REAL LOSERS, GHOSTS WHO ARE NOT AROUND TO MANAGE THEIR TEAMS BUT DID NOT TELL OUR BELOVED COMMISH BEFORE THE DRAFT SO WE COULD SUB THEM OUT. VERY BAD. VERY UN- AMERICAN! SO I WILL BE KEEPING TABS AND THOSE TEAMS WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE END OF YEAR. WE WILL REPLACE THEM WITH NEW, GOLDEN TEAMS THAT MAKE OUR LEAGUE EVEN STRONGER! MORE DETAILS TO COME! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER - BN
