Atlanta sports talk radio is pretty confident because of this. Kirby Smart is 8-1 against Tennessee. He’s never lost in Neyland Stadium either at UGA or Alabama which has made him very comfortable there.

Smart believe the Vols can’t sustain drives against him. Last time in Neyland the Vols crossed the 50 five times and only had 10 points to show for it.

Tennessee often scores first but because Smart is the superior coach they make adjustments and then the Vols do very little in the 2nd half typically. They’re excited for a good time in Neyland on Saturday.

This is their point of view. Hard to argue against any of it until we start winning.

We’ve not thrown a touchdown pass in the last three meetings against Georgia.

We’ve also not sacked them in the last three meetings. That’s hard to believe.

All from Mike Keith this morning on 104.5

...Well, I'll argue with Smart being the superior coach. You only have to be a 'pretty good coach' with their level of talent.

I’ve seen it 3 million times and the last 30 seconds of the ‘22 Bama game still blows my mind anytime I watch it (which I just did).

J. Gibbs drops an automatic first down catch on 2nd and 10. Then B. Young locks in on Burton and has to throw short because we had him covered (opposite side receiver open for a first down on an out pattern). Then All-American W. Reichard pushes a 50 yard likely game winner.

Hendon Hooker connects on two passes (both receivers making tough catches), and we go 45 yards in 13 second!!!! McGrath, who had missed an extra point earlier, knuckles one in from 40. Pandemonium ensues.

What a game.

I had the most terrible nightmare the other night that we were down 42-14 to UGA with 9 minutes left in the 4th. However, my football nightmares rarely match reality, so perhaps this is actually good news.

Further bulletins as events warrant.
That 29 unanswered points in 9 minutes is going to be legendary .

The defense we trotted out vs Syracuse makes me more nervous. Either way, at some point you have to line up your best 9, on the diamond, tap the plate, and make contact for TD! Whoever scores the most goals, wins!

That's what makes me nervous, too. I think we can score, but our defense needs to seriously slow UGA down and, ideally, make them play from behind.

I am hopeful about this game, but I wouldn't say I'm optimistic. However, this is exactly the feeling I had before Alabama last year and we won, and would've won convincingly if our QB had been able to hit open receivers. So we'll see.

They should be confident.

Hopefully over confident.

Going Into this game, I feel a lot like I did going into the 22' Bama game. Somewhat confident but also somewhat apprehensive to the notion of us finally beating them. As with Bama that year...our talent is getting closer but still not on par with them and is it still too much of a mental hurdle to overcome and finally beat these guys. The injuries make me proceed with caution also. I just don't know.
