I agree, but he'd make Gunner's life infinitely more difficult and Banks infinitely easier if he is available. Otherwise guys are having to slide around or play more snaps than is ideal.

Talent - specifically on the back end of the defense. But on defense overall.

Heup’s first season was 2021.

In the ‘22 draft to now, they’ve had 24 players drafted on the defensive side of the ball.

In the draft (2023) following our most talented offensive season (2022), they had 6 defensive players drafted with 3 of those being DBs. In the ‘24 draft, they had 3 more DBs drafted (all who played vs our awesome ‘22 offense). They were rotating in NFL player after NFL player.

Pair that with Kirby being a great defensive mind / play caller.
