Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

this is how skull fractures and head bleeds happen, and why. big boy needs to be in jail. if a pip squeak gets under your skin, with that kind of anger...
He wants to feel like a "BIG MAN" putting a whooping on a boy. He could have killed that boy by slamming him on the ground. Then he would be squealing like a pig.

Also...one more thing.

Connor Stallions making it all about offense. We don't think South Carolina's defense knew our offense man...we KNOW their offense knew our defensive signals.

And considering Connor was at Michigan from 2018-2023 and Tim Banks was at Penn State from 2016-2020 you very much spent time analyzing our defense. Signal stealing almost never benefits a defense since the offense dictates pace. So even if you know the changes ya need to make you can't sub to adjust, and you don't know how much time you have to make the alignment adjustments.
If Banks never changed his signals over the course of 4 years then that’s on him if they got stolen

To be fair, Spurrier is a terrible judge of QBs...

Shane Matthews
Danny Wuerffel
Doug Johnson
Jesse Palmer
Rex Grossman
Blake Mitchell
Chris Smelley
Stephen Garcia
Connor Shaw

It's like a State Farm insurance mixer... I know Danny won a Heisman, so did Troy Smith and Gino Torretta...not exactly a measuring stick for great QBs.

I can kind of believe the notion that SC didn’t have our signals, yall please hear me out before writing me off:

Prior to Hooker getting hurt, fumbling and giving up the td to make it a blowout, we only had 3 punts, and 2 of them were because a holding and opi call put us well behind the chains that we couldn’t convert on 3rd down. If they had our signals and still gave up 38 points then that’s pretty embarrassing on their part. Plus it is kind of on the coaches to a degree to periodically change the signals to prevent sign stealing.

NOW that that’s over with, let’s remember all the off field distractions that happened that week leading up to the game, plus our defense was not good that year to begin with. I dont see anyone getting our defensive signals for that reason that year.

HOWEVER, I do think SC intentionally trashed the field to make our guys slip more and slower that game. If you watch the game, pay attention to the insane amount of sand kicked up throughout the game. This caused 2 of our guys to suffer non contact injuries. This didn’t effect USCjr negatively because they knew about the field and wore special cleats to help prevent the slipping and made them move normal speed, which is why they were so easily getting open downfield
Buddy, you are talking only about offense. Defensive signs are much more valuable. Most of football is matching an offense to what the defense is doing.
How the HE!! did they score 63 points when they didn't score that many for the month of October? There is no doubt they knew our shite.

To be even more fair, that was a fake quote.

Agree.

Hard to believe that anybody would believe what Stallions had to say, but I guess there are folks who choose to believe a proven liar who got caught as he tries to build back a destroyed reputation. The interview is a dodge and weave just like his "documentary" was.

Which is not the right way to do it. The right way is to come completely clean, own your part in it all, and start over. But I guess he is afraid he will be given a dirt nap or something.

The following is where I stand on it.

Connor also said his mother wasn't present at his birth.

Was able to sell my old tickets to the GA game I had in Section KK (lost a little money on them) and picked up new ones at a pretty good price in Section P. Can’t wait until next weekend. Apparently it’s the checkerboard game too, so that’s pretty exciting.

Side note: my uncle decided to have his dang wedding next weekend at 4 o’clock and waited until the last minute to tell me by asking me if I was still going.

No way I’m missing my first game for someone’s third wedding (though this woman does seem a lot more promising than the last).
only a Beta gets married during football season right @Jackcrevol

I have several tattoos, but they are on my upper arms and chest. I don't care for the tattoos everywhere thing that the younger folks are doing, but overall there are waaay more important things to stress about in my view.
Tattoos have become normalized. Provided that their not on the face, why care? Thinking tattoos are a sign of someone's character traits is a very boomer concept. I've known several people tatted up in the Army and other branches that were exemplary people. Some of the smartest and hardest working people I know. FTR ive got tats on my arms chest and upper back. 1 tattoo for each VN member I plan to ban....

Long live @frank and his prohibition against @SergeantVol gaining mod status.

I look forward to his film breakdowns going forward. He maybe unfamiliar with Heupel’s offense but he is knowledgeable with offensive and defensive schemes and found his breakdowns insightful even though he is clearly new to podcasting. Also he is clearly a VFL despite some of the grief he has received from some Vol fans over the year. I look forward to seeing his future breakdowns and would encourage others to view and subscribe to help get him started.
If he's gonna do film breakdown, someone should tell him to use a visual aid so fans can best follow along. Hell, a pointer will do the trick.
