Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Could have, maybe. Impossible to know how good he ever was since our gump coach liked trying to have him killed every Saturday. JG took the most vicious sacks that would have killed lesser men.
Justin Worley took a beating here under Dooley. Man, I went to a few of the home games during that time and he took a flat as* beating. BUT, I agree on JG. Kid had grit.

I hated this game so much. It was worse attending and watching it. I left the stadium saying to myself that I hope we never schedule a triple option team ever again. And we haven’t. And Heupel even cancelled a future game with Army.

I had the DL line up 2 yards off the line of scrimmage that game and I don’t remember why

I can kind of believe the notion that SC didn’t have our signals, yall please hear me out before writing me off:

Prior to Hooker getting hurt, fumbling and giving up the td to make it a blowout, we only had 3 punts, and 2 of them were because a holding and opi call put us well behind the chains that we couldn’t convert on 3rd down. If they had our signals and still gave up 38 points then that’s pretty embarrassing on their part. Plus it is kind of on the coaches to a degree to periodically change the signals to prevent sign stealing.

NOW that that’s over with, let’s remember all the off field distractions that happened that week leading up to the game, plus our defense was not good that year to begin with. I dont see anyone getting our defensive signals for that reason that year.

HOWEVER, I do think SC intentionally trashed the field to make our guys slip more and slower that game. If you watch the game, pay attention to the insane amount of sand kicked up throughout the game. This caused 2 of our guys to suffer non contact injuries. This didn’t effect USCjr negatively because they knew about the field and wore special cleats to help prevent the slipping and made them move normal speed, which is why they were so easily getting open downfield

@VolGee4

Did tonights performance by Cowboys give you some hope for this season?

Nevermind the haters...
Yes. Obviously, it’s one game. I didn’t watch the 4th quarter, but I was afraid the delay would slow any momentum. The keys will be to score TD’s (and not FG’s) and for the defense to at least be average.

I hate it for Miles Sanders, but most NFL RB’s can outrun LB’s. He got run down on his 49 yard run.

I love Philly. Last week, I was at our office at 1880 JFK Blvd just across the river from the 30th st train station and it was a very nice area. We live a couple hours west so only get up there a few times a year but always have a blast.
Last visit with my wife and we stayed in City Center East near Independence Hall and it was great. Sorry I can't recall the hotel. There are some bad areas, like any big city, but there are many nice places to stay and so much history to explore.

Edit, check out the Roost
Definitely stay away from Kensington Ave 😂

I didn’t watch the video, but nothing that Conner Stallions says can be believed. After watching the documentary a while back, if was pretty clear he was not believable. So, I’m not taking his word for it. There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that USCe had something that helped them late in the year.

Depends on what your looking for. I lived in West Chester for a few years; it's just outside the city. It's very nice, safe, with an easy path downtown...just stay away from Chester.

Downtown: Fairmount is nice, with easy access to Center City; Fishtown is really nice and cool, and safe; Old City, Society Hill...as I said, depending on what you're looking for.
Manayunk is a pretty cool area too

Cant speak for the clemson game, but for our game I truly believe the field had more to do with the result than them maybe/maybe not having our signals. Jmo, because our offense was pretty predictable at times as well

IIRC, the conspiracy was not that Conner Stallions gave TN's signals to USCJr, it was that another coach on the Michigan staff gave the signals to USCJr because he had previous ties to them. Also the reason for giving the signals was because Michigan was in competition with TN and Clemson to even get into the playoffs. They needed TN and Clemson to lose before the playoffs. Conner Stallions made it seem he would rather Michigan play TN themselves if he already had TN signals. It was more likely that only 1 of TN, Clemson or Michigan would even get in the playoffs.

September 5, 2025: Embrace the power of redemption, of being saved by grace and rescued from a life in the flesh to live in the sweetness of the Holy Spirit. It is time to be renewed, restored, refreshed and extricated from that which has interfered with the freedom of a life in Christ. Take time to be thankful. John 15:5-7 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
