Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

You can root for Arch and against the longhorns all at the same time. I want him to have a great season and yet for the longhorns to win no more than 4 games.

The longhorn fans are on the same level of delusional grandeur as ohio state, michigan, bama gators and miami fans. Cannot stand any of these fans.

My son (age 5) said it best when a longhorn fan neighbor tried to get him to root for the longhorns. Neighbors are obnoxious longhorn fans.
My son’s response: We don’t root for cows, we eat them! 🤠
They had no answer. Damn longhorn fans got schooled by a 5 year old!
I've got nothing against Arch personally. My only question is, would he have been as highly recruited and receiving Heisman hype if his name were Arch Smith? There's the issue I have with the Arch conversation.

So
Any info on moi
And Gibson besides the reports we have heard about being out multiple weeks
Any definitive answers

Not much if any push by interior DL is a concern. Nobody like Big O or ONL. Hope Moi is okay.
Averaged 2.2 yards per carry. I think the defense will be fine. Good to get the younger DL’s feet wet.

I thought all 3 levels played well despite the passing yardage.

Colton Hood is a beast! Very glad that he left deion. 😎

Do you think all the WR’s leaving had to do with Nico not getting them the ball?
Yes. Every single issue with the offense last year lies at the feet of nico. Need a true leader at QB.

I honestly think that the evaluation of him was only based off being a 7 on 7 no contact superstar. I’m happy that he transferred.

I think after just one game that Joey Aguilar is going to be a much better QB fit for Tennessee.

That’s why I am all about

17-0 🤠

The thread was merged before the game even started. Everything that happened once the game started is not on me. If anything, it’s on you for trying to plant the idea that it would be a bad thing. We could have gone about our business as usual but you were so keen on not being cursed that you’ve now cursed the team just to save yourself. Unforgivable.
Your miserable attempt at deflection will not work. You have placed our season in jeopardy!

Kind of a no win for Heupel. Folks complained that we didn't give younger guys minutes. Gives everyone minutes in a P4 OOC and now we're concerned that the defense isn't very good.
The complainers for the most part enjoy complaining. If that requires self-contradiction, that's hardly an impediment to them. If he hadn't played the young guys, on the other hand, they would have complained about that. Complaining is really easy. A lot of times, my guess is, there is general anxiety underlaying it. There are so many unknowns and so many games to be played that there is no reckoning all the things that could possibly go wrong. So the anxious mind grabs something handy and frets about that. That (pretty nearly everything) could (or could not) turn out in retrospect to have been huge, the anxious imagination imagines.

Of course some amount to trolls. And some few might be people who do see something noteworthy.

However that may be, playing the young guys is smart when the young guys merit playing time. These seasons are so long now, and saving some wear and tear on the starters is also prudent. Heupel did a great job.

Not many people here are on the slow bus, but for the exceptions, Heupel did also adjust last year. There were all sorts of new wrinkles in the run game and they changed over the season. The guy who does the UGA even did a show or a sizeable part of a show about Heupel's novel OL schemes. They were overlooked because they were not in the passing game, and they involved primarily blockers and counters of various kinds. We all have a pretty good idea why Heup would focus on springing Sampson.
