Thinking about defense yesterday, I don't think it was as bad as some made out. Especially when you factor in our front guys kept going down with injuries. That affected QB pressure, which makes things more difficult for the LBs and secondary. Everything starts in the trenches.
Also, you build a lead like that you start rotating in guys for experience and you also switch to playing zone and keeping everything in front of you. That's when Syracuse started having success with the ground game and short yardage passes.

And you'll take that every day, because what y9u can't have is getting beat over the top for quick scores.

Idk if this makes sense, but if we'd only scored 26pts Syracuse wouldn't have scored 20. We would've played the game differently defensively.
