Call me crazy but I think FSU has a chance to beat Bama.
1. Bama's starting RB and their best DL are both out.
The RB who will start might end up being great, but on paper this isn't a Saban running back room.
2. Ty Simpson who has only shown splashes of mediocrity, will be making his first collegiate start on the road in a hostile environment.
3. Alabama had trouble defending mobile QB's last season.
You are spot on. He didn’t read a play, he reacted and that’s why he was late to the spot all the time. It’s the reason that a less athletic guy like Colton Jumper ends up starting. You guys almost all have a distorted memory of AJ Johnson, and it is because of how he played late into his UT career...and while I agree that he became a true meet and hit the dude behind the line in the hole hammer MLB later in his career..ir was simply not the case before that. He was a "grab onto the guy 3 yards downfield and hang on while he fell for 5 more" tackler until then....it infuriated me...but ai realized that it wasn't because he was soft, it was because he was just a second slow at getting the point of attack.
He got in way better shape, processed plays and took much better angles and was therefore much quicker at getting to the point of attack later.
He was a good tackler his whole career however, once he got his hands on somebody, they were not getting away...they might drag him 5 yards when he was younger but they were going down....I will give him that.
Flame away...but I know I'm not the only one that used to gripe about that on here...but there ain't many of those guys still on VN.

Does not compute
New HC for Wake too...not sure Mack has the roster to pull it off tonight in Game 1, but I think eventually he could put together a competitive team there.Something feels funny about the Wake Forest game. I don't know enough about Kennesaw St, but could they pull an upset here or cover the spread easily?
I don't "fear" Golesh at all, and I have no idea if UF would hire him or not; but, I'm also not going make light of the miracle he's pulled off at USF. That program was the epitome of dogsh!t before he took over. That 15-12 should be hung in a museum, considering the 8-37 record they had in the four years prior. 14 wins in his first two seasons...USF was 3-21 the two years leading to Golesh. What he has done at USF so far, is just as impressive as what Billy Napier did at Louisiana, imo.LOL some of ya'll are on something...
Florida isn't going to hire Golesh, he's had two 7-6 seasons and one blow out over an overrated Boise State team. Napier might still get fired if things slip off the track this season, but if they make that move gonna be hard to do it for a 15-12 HC in his 3rd year.

Now, moving forward he somehow tanks, would have to reassess. But, his first two seasons and a game have been brilliant.
