Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Piggybacking off of this, I want everyone who is wondering why Jesse Perry (a lowly 3-star) is starting at guard this fall to watch a few minutes of this video. This kid straight up wants to murder his opponent every single play. Gotta love it.

I'm telling ya, we got some dudes on the o-line, and they will be taking numbers and kicking arse.

Personally I really believe that Nico's biggest flaw is that he was lazy. If he would have put in the work he would have been ok. I recognize a lazy athlete a mile away.
California for my my money is an entire state of unmotivated, lazy dope smokers, I'm seeing it more and more every day.
Ehh, bad take. I am not a Nico lover by any stretch of the imagination, however all accounts of him were that he worked his ass off. I'd bet with the time and training that he had to do, he works harder at his craft than anything you've ever worked at in your life, so that's a very confusing take. Sometimes that's just not enough and they don't have the it factor, or they choke under pressure and I feel that may have been what Nico may have faced. Being the quarterback at Tennessee is not for the faint of heart.

Also, "lazy dope smokers" lol. You realize most of your favorite athletes probably partake in cannabis, right? Your opinion on that matter is even worse than your take that Nico didn't work hard.

Buddy there is a difference between those who partake and those that are lazy worthless lie abouts. Nico was lazy and entitled, his exit proved this.
My daddy always said, "I do not care what you do in your free time as long as you get up and go to work the next day." And that is the damn truth.

Yep agreed...not showing up to events, wearing pajama pants everywhere...some red flags for sure.

Highest since they started tracking recruiting rankings online. If you look at 247 Tennessee’s classes in early 2000s were stellar but unless I’m mistaken they didn’t start really documenting recruiting rankings online until 2009/2010 (when Shannon Terry started 247). Someone correct me if I’m wrong

Someone ranked us top 3 in 07. I wasn’t trying to argue this early in the morning. Just trying to clarify what you were saying .

Im just ready to see them kick it off.

So tired of hearing the media tell us all how we suck when UT fans know more ab the personnel of this team than the media. Esp when it comes to this particular team.

They are about to be introduced to many dudes on this team who they have no idea about currently.
Beat UGA at home week three and the whole narrative changes.

Makes such a difference. They're relentless.

Such a huge part of the game nowadays. Wish we had this on O.
That’s why Spyre has to pay a little more to get these top athletes on offense lol. Although Pope is recruiting his a** off. I think he knows he has to prove it.

Nice! I’m with you on all - I’m surprised that Buffalo number pushed out to 19 yesterday. I’ll probably tap it again if I see that again.

I added NCST early last week at -11.5, can’t believe that one has moved so much in the last couple of days.
Yeah I missed the best number on Buffalo but still above the key of 17 was still good for me

I’m sure I’ll be looking at some more here this afternoon and tomorrow. Miss St may be an option for me. Northwestern as well but haven’t checked updated lines

He really has been the weakest link to this point. Which is a tad unfair since he has gotten Moa, Tyreek, and other kid. And yes, he is recruiting his ass off, this year.

Joel Klatt is the worst

The worst thing that could happen for college football is Tennessee going 6-6 with Aguilar while Nico performs really well at UCLA

Unlikely scenario- but I think hot takes like the one above are designed to lay the ground work for that media narrative:

Tennessee was the bad guy, not paying Nico what he was worth - they made a big short sighted mistake

If that scenario happens, the players will have all the power and walkouts and ridiculous NIL demands will become the norm

That’s my nightmare scenario

I played Miss State at 13, but mad I missed them at 11 last week and 10 months ago.

Last I saw, NW was down to 5.5. I’m just riding my 7 there - that and GT are my biggest plays this weekend.

Sometimes things just are what the "narrative" says they are...

Nico told his side of the story. "Something something not enough talent". It didn't get any play because it didn't make any sense.
Nico changed his narrative. Now the story is closer to family. By moving most of his family back from the place he was at.

Also Klatt's either bribed or lazy take does no mention of Nico's brother who also bolted. Those are related and have 0 to do with UT.

They messed up and this was the best compromise. Spin away. We MAY have been a hard negotiator which would be the only side not included, but don't shake us down after the main transfer window is complete.
