Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

He is a shill for Fox, and therefore anti-SEC. UCLA will have a rough year. Take the under on 5.5 wins for UCLA this season.
They might be ok. Not great, maybe better than last year. Nico will look a bit better, because he's all they have and he's not complete garbage. They might make a bowl game. We'll know a lot by how they do vs Utah this weekend.

August 27, 2025: Live each day as it comes doing your best to make the most of your time and energy. When you dwell on what might come in the future you enter the realm of supposition and your idea or theory of what you believe will almost always be flawed. Remember the quote: The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Well that seals it..

17-0🤠
I almost didn’t give you a like because I just assumed that this was my post. 😂

Well played sir. Welcome to unlimited optimism!
Be careful to only openly use it here. Elsewhere the social media crowd will bring tar, feathers and pitchforks 😳

17-0 🤠

They would have torn down Neyland and built a cow pasture
Would require mass murder.
If they even looked at Neyland, Hillbillies would appear with shotguns and corn from a jar Molotov cocktails! There would be rabid Yetis and Glitches hitting them from the flanks. Before they even knew what was happening, a flotilla of @InVOLuntary houseboats would be hammering them with mortar rounds.
Knowing that the Tennessee (and surrounding states) VFLs could protect Neyland, the Texas VFLs would Alamo the ncaas base of operations. And then salt the earth with their remains.

I know that you are kidding but no way in hell is that even remotely possible.

17-0 🤠

It plays into the whole media narrative that this offense doesn't prepare players for the NFL, which is then used by opposing coaches to negative recruit against us. Some of the media is trying to paint Nico as a sympathetic figure. They'd be better off painting him as a victim of his dad, not Tennessee. This started with his dad shopping him to other programs. They ignore the fact it backfired, and he ended up taking less money, not because he wanted away from this offense, but because no one else wanted him.
If Nico struggles and Joey balls out wonder how the media spins that? Nico doesn’t have the Oline and Joey does then how much of a fool does that make Nico’s dad look like?

I think he wrung every drop of production he could out of Joe..but I do think that is was probably going to slow down a little for Nico and he was going to play much better as he progressed through the next two seasons...he did seem to improve, even in game from one half to the next sometimes. I believe Heup could have gotten some real production out of Nico over the bext two seasons.

The problem for Nico and us the UT fanbase is...he was no Drew Lock, Dillon Gabriel or Hendon Hooker, able to understand and thrive immediately in Heupels offense. He just was not capable, despite all those shiny stars next to his name, and all the prodigious talent he possesses, to quickly grasp the concept and run with it. We wanted him to be what we thought he was going to be, a transcendent generational talent who was supposed to start obliterating Tennessee records as soon as he took the starting job.
Personally I really believe that Nico's biggest flaw is that he was lazy. If he would have put in the work he would have been ok. I recognize a lazy athlete a mile away.
California for my my money is an entire state of unmotivated, lazy dope smokers, I'm seeing it more and more every day.

ESPN analyst are about as smart as the women on The View.

I don’t know why anyone watches ESPN for anything but games.
I never watch any of the "prediction" stuff and I am watching a lot less of the game day pregame stuff because it is all, in the words of the sage McGill, 🦬💩. Most people today are mentally lazy and just regurgitate stuff they've "heard."

Crazy thing is ESPN analyst are saying he was set up because he was running with guys who would be cut the next day and on the street 👀👀 buuuuuut that pocket is nice..sooooo👀

Lots of espn analysts out there. Can you be more specific?

Orlovsky and Ryan Clark said Gabriel clearly outplayed him and talked about the issues of him holding ball too long, drifting in pocket, etc
