Physical ability and potential are a trap for many coaches. Like a hot, head turning chic, they bite and find out there are twenty three other hours of the day that are hell.

I think he wrung every drop of production he could out of Joe..but I do think that is was probably going to slow down a little for Nico and he was going to play much better as he progressed through the next two seasons...he did seem to improve, even in game from one half to the next sometimes. I believe Heup could have gotten some real production out of Nico over the bext two seasons.

The problem for Nico and us the UT fanbase is...he was no Drew Lock, Dillon Gabriel or Hendon Hooker, able to understand and thrive immediately in Heupels offense. He just was not capable, despite all those shiny stars next to his name, and all the prodigious talent he possesses, to quickly grasp the concept and run with it. We wanted him to be what we thought he was going to be, a transcendent generational talent who was supposed to start obliterating Tennessee records as soon as he took the starting job.

It's funny that our HCs "high school offense" has destroyed some really tough defenses and good defensive coaches over the years...so does that mean Saban ran a junior high school defense..

Speaking of black bears…did anyone else know that the Ft Walton Beach, FL area has a black bear problem? My son is stationed in that area and he told me that they have to watch for bears while outside with the kids and they have bear-proof trash cans on base. I had no clue.

I walked up on one & spooked it while "hiking" in topsail state park east of Destin last year.

I didn't realize they were in the panhandle, so I googled it to find a video of one swimming in the ocean amongst a crowd...

Joel Klatt has an axe to grind with Tennessee for whatever reason. As has been pointed out, he mocked Tennessee for smoking victory cigars after beating Alabama and downplayed the victory. He's full of nonsense argle-bargle and his opinion may be safely discarded.

@SoilVol why is the sand so white near Destin. But a lot of places, it’s light tan (“golden”), or tan? Or do we have a SeaVol or SandVol lurking?

I have seen red, black, and amazing pink sand.

I saw lavender colored sand in Big Sur at Pfeiffer beach...beautiful stuff.

I would post pics but they are all on my old phone which fritzed out two weeks ago...

I had this the other day.

We have a massive old male about 2-3 times that size that comes down off the mountain and gets in our garbage every few months...it's the second largest black bear I've ever seen up close. I chase him out of the front, but he just grabs a bag of garbage and goes and sits in the backyard and goes through it.

Well said. It’s not about where you start, it’s where you finish. I hope a few years down the road it becomes clear to these kids that staying at UT long term opens up so many more doors for you and is far more valuable than some extra $$$ in the present.
