Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There's something oddly hilarious about Eric Cain excitedly and energetically introducing the VQ podcast, only to look over and see Hubbs, AP, and Rob Lewis on the right just staring at their cameras looking grumpy as hell.

Maybe Monica Lewinsky is under his desk

DeBoer is a proven winner unfortunately.

They’ll likely be much better in the passing game. Roster crazy talented.

FSU might be hot dog water again. Perhaps less so than last year. What’s UGA gonna be on offense? What’s USCe gonna be on defense? And LSU’s HC is Brian Kelly.
We have seen many a times where a proven winner goes to a big time school and fails! Heck we can point to one recently where Mullen took MS State to unprecedented heights before taking over at Florida and getting himself fired! Proven success doesn’t always prove future results. I’m in wait and see mode with Ty, he hasn’t proven a thing yet in college football. He had a whopping 381 yards with no TD’s in 3 years. So we shall see if he’s the savior they need or they have to go to the 2nd string unproven QB. LSU has Brian Kelly who’s done nothing at LsU except mediocre teams. We shall see if he gets fired after this year because Yaw Yaw proved that anyone can win a Natty there and Kelly hasn’t even sniffed one!

Yeah I have it too. So ticked off about this. Happened with me with Directv, so I cancelled and moved to YouTube Tv. Now this! Frustrating. Let me know where you find that you can watch games elsewhere.
I've stuck with dish network for over 20 years. I've been wanting to leave them the past couple of years but they've made the bill affordable. They're not perfect but they're willing to negotiate on the monthly bill. I also still enjoy channel surfing and I don't get to do that with our streaming apps.

Love the Profile pic...but racist IMO.

I’m not sure we’re as good as anyone now. Lining up against Ohio State showed the talent differential. It was obvious fairly quickly. It has pretty much been the same against UGA. We really haven’t been competitive against them but not many others have either.

Last year vs UGA it was 24-17 until 2:26 left in the game

Some strange posts as usual. Leading the SEC in rushing means your Offense does not "suck". This is Heupels Offense. Golesh was a good collaborator while he was here. I would guess Lutrell will be a great extra set of eyes to have. If the Run game leads to points and allows us to control the outcome, isn't that the object of the game?
SEC Offensive Player of the Year, too.

a man in a white shirt and tie asks what did you call me
I think he called you something like "a goose" ....

I think it is impossible to out recruit those top 4 on a regular basis. A&M has oil money which certainly helps. I think the best we can hope for is to move to 5 or 6 on that list.
It’s a little bit of a lazy argument. Auburn is 6th with 3 five stars and 43 four stars. We are 9th with 4 five stars and 43 four stars. So, we are down 3 spots? Do you think those 8 extra three stars really matter that much? There are only 11 players on the field at a time. Those 8 extra three stars are 3/4th on the depth chart at their positions. The only time players 65-85 matter is if half your team gets hurt. You aren’t winning much anyway.

They also were up over 30 on Oregon in the first half. Was Oregon talented? And they beat them at home. We had to play them at night at home.

They were head and shoulders better than everyone last year. And UGA is a mental block right now. Bama had a top five roster and we beat them. Had we played anyone other than OSU, we would have been in any game.
If Nico hits an open vertical route to start the 3rd quarter, it’s 21-17. Much closer.

UGA scored a garbage TD very late in the ballgame last year to make it look worse than it was...we were only loing by 7 with like 2 minutes left

From 2007 to 2024 Saban had only 2 recruiting classes outside the top 5 (2007 at 12th, 2018 at 6th) the rest were ranked 1st or top 3... 2020, 2022, 2024 were the only other classes that weren't ranked 1st.

I didn't say they're recruiting isn't good, I said DeBoer can't recruit like Saban...(obviously a bit of a TBD since he's working on just his 2nd class...but I just don't think DeBoer with the new NIL environment will rack up #1 classes like Saban did)
Fair points

Real talk...SEC going to 9 and 1 in conference being neutral field is not a bad idea.

The main reason I don't mind is it gets players the chance to play in NFL stadiums (or that would be the neutral sites I'd want to see)

Panthers, Titans, Falcons, Bengals, Colts all pretty good options within a day's drive.
Is the 1 mandatory conference game at a neutral site a gift to Georgia? Kirby thinks playing in Jacksonville is a recruiting disadvantage but he can’t get out of it. So Sankey comes to the rescue and makes everyone else do the same thing?

The big thing at Georgia were the huge rigged calls UGA needed to even stay close enough to have a chance to win in the second half. Heinous.

Can’t find the DPI they wrongly called on McCoy.

Why are our reporters too dumb or chicken to say what they saw and turn that into a question when Heupel points the mic their way?

This 100 percent. Look at USF and you’ll change your tune on Golesh. The plays are there, just look at all the wide open misses from Nico last year
And the misses by Milton in 2023. If we had the same level of execution the past two years as we did in 2022, we likely go much further in the playoffs. Especially last year.
