Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I had some heavy drinking years between ages 19-24. Cut back basically as soon as I met my now wife. Side effects of no longer being a barfly. Have decreased my consumption every year since then to the point that my wife and I are now near teetotalers. I'll still occasionally have a beer or two socially and a glass of wine with dinner a couple of times per month.

I used to drink beer all day on CFB Saturdays but cut that out about a decade ago. And ever since we had our first child in 2020, I've had one actual hangover. Trying to parent with a hangover was a unique form of hell I never want to experience again.

I've always been extremely sensitive to hangovers, though. Was never the type that could just bounce back the next morning like nothing happened.

This was my primary reason from switching from beer to a combination of quaaludes, angel dust, and ayahuasca during football season.

Even with keys I don’t think top 5 is possible. So he must believe we’re going to flip someone else too.
If we got Hiter and Keys, then we would be sitting at 6th place right now. That's if no other teams add or lose any players, and we don't lose any recruits until signing day.

Yeah when you just look at Deboar's resume....I have a hard time betting against him.

The good news is, it's harder to win nowadays and more teams have caught up to Bama. Nick was as successful because he had a monopoly on talent and most of their rivals were down.
Still surprised their recruiting hasn't tailed off more. They are stacking up 5 stars.

We were killing it with a good mix throwing deep, outs, slants were killer at one point..RB’s and TE’s to throw them off occasionally it was just a nice offense that had any defense off balance as hell..i think a good mix is all we need and not whatever we were running predicting each snap the last two years. that was giving me Gump vibes running the same **** over and over..
QBs...could...not...EXECUTE...the multitude of plays we were running in 22...period. It was dialed way back because of their deficiencies at reading and then seeing the field...how many times does that simple inescapable truth have to be told to you?

Cain gets a lot of unnecessary flack for his butchering of english language. He was on Syracuse Pod, and SEC crossover pod this week. Really, in terms of delivery and presentation, and professionalism dude is in a class of his own. The pod can turn into a bro fest real quick, he always stays with facts, and is prepared. Others just give their ******* opinion.
You are right..Cain is doing a very good job.

DeBoer is a proven winner unfortunately.

They’ll likely be much better in the passing game. Roster crazy talented.

FSU might be hot dog water again. Perhaps less so than last year. What’s UGA gonna be on offense? What’s USCe gonna be on defense? And LSU’s HC is Brian Kelly.

eh...don't think I buy that just yet.

2 years at Fresno State and did basically the same as Tedford (66.7%)
2 years at Washington and did a bit better than Peterson had in the past, but also had a weaker Pac-12 to deal with
1 year at Bama with a roster that had gone 12-2 the year before and fails to win 10 games for the first time since Saban's first year there...

This point in his career he's only proven he can move on after 2 years before **** actually gets difficult.

also I get Bama has a pretty soft schedule...but they were 9-3 last year with an even easier schedule (only played 4 top 25 teams, only 2 on the road).

This year they open at FSU, play at Georgia, vs Tennessee, at South Carolina vs LSU and then vs OU (those 4 are all in a row. I'm still not sure how much trust I have in DeBoer with so much unknown on their offense... I think 10-2 is crazy talk personally.
KD has his right hand man Grubbs back..and a freaking insanely loaded roster...that is why people are so high on them.

One dimensional can’t do that plain and simple…we need offense
I want better offense too, but Milton and Nico were just not capable of running this thing at full speed...just like handing a Ferrari or Lambo to a blue haired blind 80 year old woman....it will still go, but she sure as hell ain't getting the most out if it that is possible.

Soft schedule and loads of talent on the roster...but unproven QB, I'll be curious to see how they look against teams that have similar talent (of course they really only play 2 or 3 of those teams this year)

I fear they will be a load this year...too much talent to continue to suck, but if they do, ol KD better start looking for a hood realtor and moving company.

How much is that on Heupel and talent evaluation?

I think 2 things will be KD's downfall.

1. he can't recruit like Saban and it's only gotten harder with the new NIL era
2. Tennessee isn't a dumpster fire
