Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I pay $0 for the ESPN Hulu Disney + bundle.

I will literally watch rocks, in my yard before I pay $38 ****ing dollars for football. They can kick said rocks.
Do you paint the rocks orange and listen to the radio during football season?
He asked what the best deal is and most are paying $82 / month for YT tv and if anyone is like me in the past, I paid for it just to watch football and it never got used outside of that and then I cancel it at then I’d the season. The ESPN unlimited gives all the channels I wanted but for half the price I’ve paid in the past.

Not sure how it’s going to fully work out yet but I’m trying out the new ESPN Unlimited streaming.

I bundled it with Disney plus and Hulu for like $38/month. Significantly cheaper than YT tv which is what I’ve done in the past.
If you don’t have kids who watch Disney + then I think it’s like $29 for just ESPN.

👌

Also, get off my lawn.

I still think Golesh leaving was as huge hit to our offense.

They still haven't fully recovered - made worse by bad QB play.
There was a good article on this subject recently. Basically, it said our offensive output has changed since Golesh left a few years ago.

Golesh said he and Heupel had a unique relationship and that he called the plays without interference from Heupel. I know people won't believe this, but Golesh was the heartbeat of our offense.

It may be true that we haven't had the QB play since he left but I'll go to my grave believing if he was still our OC, we would be a much better team than we are now.

I do miss those crazy plays from '21/'22. . . even though we still do them some.

Relevant data from his offense at USF does not support this theory. Players that haven't executed are the #1 reason for the difference in offense. Not the plays that were called.

He also said if someone could prove him wrong it would be Heupel.

Comments were mainly about JA having a TO problem last year despite Heup QBs not turning the ball over. OL needs to over-perform. Other areas have to step up bc not a QB that elevates everyone else but needs help (so same as last year - that’s me not him saying this part).

Said 8-4 could still have us feeling really good coming out of it due to the off-field distraction that took place.

Since we discuss random subjects just watched a bizarre video.

I was watching a show on Gary Gilmore execution. He chose firing squad in 1977! So I went to the google machine and landed on Wiki page. I was reading about his trial and then I saw a video below.

I’m thinking no way do they show this, it was 2 mins 49 seconds long. It shows them walking him in, strapping him in and then screen goes black. Man says his crime, the judge who sentenced him, took maybe 20 seconds. Then you hear a guy say to the 3 shooters to ready their weapons and then fire!

After the shot screen comes back live and shows him slumped over and doc checking pulse!

Can’t imagine in today’s world, there would never be a video on the internet. Wild..
It's a reenactment.

I mean their corners are a guy who has never played a meaningful snap and another who is a 17yr old freshman lol.

Makes sense they were getting toasted. If we are running it well and using tempo again the way Heup likes it then i can def see us smoking them vertically a few times.

Blows my mind that people completely forget about the #s Aguilar has already put up, his experience, and Heupel as his coach. They act like he's some straggler we brought back from a donkey show in Tijuana.
They either haven't watched any film of him, or they just don't understand foosball that well.

Hendon came here with far less impressive tape and this system made him into a Heisman contender.

Joey was arguably the best QB in his league. Yes he was second team in 2023 and the player of the year went to JMU's QB. JMU went 11-1....their sole loss to JOEY SWAGUILAR...AT 10-0 JMU. Joey went into their house, threw 3 tuds and 318 yards and was clutch down the stretch and won it on OT!

Yeah he's just gonna suck tho, no way he'll be able to complete passes to wide open receivers here at Tennessee...

Some parallels between JA as a player and Heup as a coach. Both had one down year that hurt their stock quite a bit, but that also likely opened the door for the Vols to snag them.
