Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

That 2001 game intro vs Syracuse that tnhunter 10 posted got me looking at our team that year and I watched some highlights of our games.

Would be interesting to hear from you guys that were watching back then (Yes, I know I can use Google, but hearing from actual fans is much better).

What were your thoughts after the SEC champ loss? Were people thinking back then that maybe 98 was a one off? Was Fulmer starting to lose his luster? Interested to see what the responses here will be.
That team was really talented. I'm not sure about beating them, but I thought we probably were the best matchup for Miami that year. I was a senior at UT and almost booked a flight to the Rose Bowl before the SECCG. Glad I waited.

I just don’t think that we can go 7-5. Recruiting would go down and many who invest a lot of money would not be happy. But I’m way more bullish on this team than many. I think they are a 9-11 win team so no worries! Don’t let stats hold you back McGill! This team is very talented and will prove it on the field soon.
Ok...just don't 💩 all over our HC if a rash of bad luck dooms us to a mediocre record...remember I told you it was a possibility...IF...bad things happen. Also we need potential playmaker to make big plays, or we are going to have a problem...Boo has already created one massive issue regarding this with his obvious brain injury. We can't afford anymore guys to not play up their shiny stars when on the field, or stay hurt all the time and not get on the field much at all.

I hope you're right and everything goes well.

Sorry I wasn't getting into the minute distances. Major leagues have never seen a 107mph pitch so I don't think they'd be rocking anything
Agree to disagree. A bunch of 12 yr olds (99% of them will never play professional baseball) have 2 hits in 11 innings against him. MLB players would lay a crooked number on him.

And in the No Shitte Sherlock Research Award Category:

A new study from Germany and the U.K. has found that drinking coffee in the morning significantly improves mood, with participants reporting more happiness and enthusiasm for up to 2.5 hours after their first cup.

😎
It takes 2.5 hours for their morning bowel movement?

Only thing I’ve ever done to help is preemptively put out an anti fungal as soon as the lows hit 70 degrees. Also, do deeper, less frequent watering. Near impossible to keep fungus out of an East TN fescue lawn when it hits the peak heat/humidity of the summer, especially if you have a flatter lawn that doesn’t drain great. Good luck pursuing the perfect green carpet as it’s a moving target.
The satisfaction with my lawn significantly increased when I stopped caring and reduced it's size lol.

Texas heat aint nothing to a humid august day in Knoxville. . .
Few weeks back when it twer 95 BEFORE Heat Index, was something. Went and shot hoops one day at 2PM, on the asphalt. because, well I like to learn lessons the hard way. Toughed through about 10-15 minutes of that nonsense, crawled home. Drank water, then curled up in the fetal position and slept.
