Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Question: What is the only food that never spoils, even after thousands of years?

Answer: Honey. Due to its low water content, high acidity, and the presence of hydrogen peroxide (a natural preservative produced by bees), honey can remain edible for thousands of years when stored in a sealed container. Archaeological finds, such as pots of honey from ancient Egyptian tombs over 3,000 years old, have been discovered still perfectly preserved and safe to eat.
I can testify. I found a jar of honey in a pantry that was probably 15 years old and it was just like new. If stored in a cool place honey will turn to sugar but still be good. I harvest honey and don't even worry about it going bad, it could be left in the midsummer sun and be fine.

Who said it was ok? I said it was likely depending on particular circumstances..and those circumstances would be no ones fault.

It doesn't matter if we spent 100 million on the roster, if that 100 mil is on the bench or in the rehab room all year.

And IMO until proven otherwise, this is not the most talented team Heupel has had...it's mostly paper talent so far, guys with a bunch of shiny stars next to their name outta HS given to them by needs selling subscriptions and whoring for clicks.

I agree that there is potential to become that...but none of these guys on offense have done anything yet...and we have a QB who has been with us only in fall practice and has never ran this system under live fire..and the young QBs behind him with a bunch of shiny stars next to their names couldn't beat him out.

Those are logical and true arguments for how 7-5 are possible...and it ain't hard to imagine..but..

I think if everything goes well..9-11 wins are likely.
I just don’t think that we can go 7-5. Recruiting would go down and many who invest a lot of money would not be happy. But I’m way more bullish on this team than many. I think they are a 9-11 win team so no worries! Don’t let stats hold you back McGill! This team is very talented and will prove it on the field soon.

I think most are just concerned with the unknown at QB.

And top 15 roster spend sounds sweet but also there’s likely 4 teams on the schedule that have a more expensive roster than we do.

For the record my prediction is 9-3 / 10-2.
I don’t think that is true. Maybe 3 but you may be surprised at what we spent. OL making that $$$ lol. I am with you though, 9-10 wins most likely.

They think we are the 2010's Vols still.

It's a reflection of people not realizing we are back and that we are in fact a blueblood.

We went through this with NCST and UVA fans as well. They all had hope, didn't respect us and we reminded then.

They were also saying "I feel like we have no shot against Notre Dame and Clemson, but I don't feel that way with TN" Well buckle up basketball school!

Basketball school that isn't even good at basketball anymore.

USC went 8-5 and 7-6 the last 2 seasons and has the 2nd ranked class.

FL had their first winning season last year in 4 years @ 8-5 and is ranked 13th, 2 spots behind Vols.

FSU went 2-10 and is 14th, 3 spots behind Vols.

Not sure 7-5 would tank recruiting.

agree with all this

they are one of these teams that take a huge portal haul every yr and last yr they hit with it. But its risky, just look at FSU. great yr 1, disaster year 2. Youre likely to miss alot when you take 20 transfers every yr. They have taken almost 40 transfers in the Fran Brown era and hes just starting yr 2 lol

NIL does change the game a lot. That is true. Plus we have the built in “Nico left us in the spring.” But that isn’t happening. 9-10

The main aim of the talking head is to not look like a total idiot after the season. They bet on safe things, last year's and historic favorites and if they don't pan out put the blame on them underachieving. If their underdogs prove them wrong they put it up to a magical season. Most of them don't know shite.
Tennessee is going to shock the devil out of a lot of people this year.

Nah, unless he's really injured, I think Clemson wins easily at home. Home field is huge in college football. Especially early in the season. And Kelly is nowhere near a good enough coach to overcome that.
Clemson wins with it without Klubnik. I never pick another SEC team to win any sporting events.

I'm not sure I'd want to go there, it's awful close to Memphis. . .

Do they always have tickets til kick-off? Might be a good idea to do that if you really want to go, unless you're worried about availability.
Every major sporting event that I've attended had tickets available outside the stadium. One word--scalpers--If you needed a ticket, they had em'.
