Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

FIL passed this morning at around 3 am. He is at peace. Grateful he didn't linger but terribly sad to have lost him. Thank you all for your prayers. Still a long way to go in this valley of grief and loss but our heavenly Father will sustain and comfort us.

Continuing to pray for you as well @UTProf.
Oh man..sorry for your loss..🙏

No big deal if not being used….

I ll take the qb bet. I think Aguilar will outperform what Nico gave us last season. He was a below average qb. We need a little luck and the defense to be above average for us to equal/eclipse last season.
Ofc I'd never bet against any of our players (bad karma 😅) but if JA ends up higher in QBR rankings in the SEC (assuming Nico didn't improve over last year):

Top- 6 (63rd percentile) in all games

And/or

Top-5 (69th percentile) vs only SEC opponents

...then we'll be coasting this year for sure. 9-3 locked in. I'm here for it. Love the confidence, Beast. Lfg

*There's no way we go 7-5. I'd be severely disappointed with 8-4 and that'd probably mean we lost several key starters on offense, (mainly with the o-line), but 7-5 would mean something catastrophic happened. I don't see it. I think 9-3 is realistic but 10-2 or 11-1 is highly possible. By the time Friday rolls around I'll be 🤠🤠🤠.

7-5 or worse is pegged at 1 out of 6 times by the models out there so far.

8-4 or worse is roughly 40% of the time.

I do think 7-5 would be disappointing. 8-4 isn't that unlikely at all.

That said, Hype tends to exceed expectations. Can we do it again with such a rebuild or will it be another 2023 season? Just hopefully not a 2021.

Dude should be in jail

A little more context, this was at a wrestling show in California last night. Raja Jackson is not wrestler. Raja and the guy he assaulted had a little feud going on that became personal. The wrestler involved apologized to Raja several times for letting go to far and apologized to him in Person before show. The plan was for Raja to run in the ring and do a double leg takedown and then throw a few fake punches but ended up slamming the guy and knocking him out and then threw like 20 real punches at him while he was unconscious.

For those who watched wrestling during the attitude era or are life long wrestling fans. The promotion is ran by former wrestler Rikishi.

LMAO at the characterization of this year's team being a rebuild.

Exactly how I feel. Likely top 15 in money spent on a roster and we have people saying it’s ok for 7-5. Yikes

This is the most talented team Heup has had. We lack depth at receiver and safety but we’re pretty solid every where else.

You're making to much sense. Most these guys think we are going to win every game, every year. You're not allowed to bring up the fact that we have struggled at CB WR and OL recruiting and development. Any great organization cuts dead weight. If we get a shot to hire an upgrade at any of these positions at the end of this year, we should.
If per chance you mean me,

Well then yes, yes I do. If it doesn’t happen I also don’t lose my mind.

Just so we’re clear

17-0 🤠
