Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I had a grown man tell me I hurt his feelings this morning. It's hard for me to process how soft some guys are these days. He has been dragging ass around the shop being a dark cloud and pouting. I told him he needs to bring more Pooh and less Eeyore energy. That's it... Dude has a beard and works on HVAC and got butthurt over that. Probably an aTm fan LOL

What are you 12? Good lord... and coming here to vent makes it seem like you're also upset about it.

Dude is in a dark place and you see that but then go push rather than give him a chance to get whatever it is off his chest? You're the problem.

a bunch of different SEC podcasts always pop up on my Youtube algorithm.

Im sitting here working on something and listening to this vandy 247 one as background noise. These guys are calling for 9-3 and a borderline playoff appearance lmao

this same team goes to
Blacksburg at night
Tuscaloosa
Austin
Columbia, SC
Knoxville

they host
LSU
Auburn
Kentucky
Mizzou

good luck lol

Vegas has you pinned at 4.5
If they win 4 games they should pay a hooker to pop out of a cake for Clark Lea.

If this offense is still capable of getting guys open like it did during Hooker then Aguilar will light it up. If defenses have started figuring us out then it may be a struggle. This offense is designed to make qbs better than they are individually. Nico and Joe both struggled hitting open guys down the field.
As I have said many times, there is no figuring out this or any other offense. If you have the personnel and you execute you will be successful. The other teams may have figured out the if we have a brain dead qb then our offense will suck but that is about it.
In today's modern game the offense holds all the cards and failure is on lack of execution.

I lean more to the toughen up buttercup side of manhood but I did find it funny that he used winnie the pooh as examples when try to get his employee to buck up.

Football is a constant game of adjustments. The Veer and shoot was a dominant system when it first come out. The 3-3-5 defense was part of the answer to slowing it down. Heup mentioned making adjustments this season to what SEC defenses have been doing to slow down our offense. If he is successful then Aguilar will light up opposing offenses imo.

I mean friend to friend is one side of it...but if you're a co-worker/employer my goodness what a toxic work environment.

For sure. Cowboys are like a lot of teams. Close but no cigar. Part of that is merely a function of a few (Patriots & Chiefs) teams repeating so much. Honestly their season records are pretty stellar overall. That's really the problem - Jerry has seen enough success to believe he should keep digging the same spot - coach, qb etc.

People laugh at Romo or the coaches, but when you look at year over year season performances they've been solid. I stopped pointing after I did a review, but I can empathize with fans.

The issue is the post season and Jerry's overwhelming desire for control.
Yes, and recently, the QB collapsing during the post season.

Just ask the Browns, Panthers, Raiders, Jets, Falcons, Cardinals, and more about drafting and acquiring talent. The Cowboys have been at the top of the league in drafting recently. Just need other parts of the front office to do the same.
are you suggesting those teams don't have talent?

UGA for me. That's the last monkey on our back.

If UGA is literally the only SEC game we win, I honestly wouldn’t mind too much. I am beyond sick of not only losing to them, but getting run off the field by them. And what I just don’t understand is how Bama has just as much talent as them and we are not only competitive with them, but beating them.

VQ chat was pretty good:

Merk likely gone after season (duh)
Talked about $$$ and increases
Boo ( I hope they are wrong - if boo is on the team and the best player, play him. Don’t make him sit or play when needed. He is on the team so play him IMO)
Said we could see a few young guys leave early with good season
Keys sounds very likely and would be an epic WR class
Most likely win against big three. Two said Bama and one said Florida. I think Florida in November will be it.
