Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Jake Fromm was the 44th ranked overall player in his class, bad example.
I don’t care what Fromm’s star ranking was. I watched that guy play for three years and saw an average QB playing on an NFL roster against college kids. No different than McElroy, McCarron, etc.

Cool story.

My post and point was that Kirby's QBs are rarely "elite" any damn way...only 4 have been top 100 prospects and of those 4 only Fromm and Eason even played for him a full year.

August 20, 1945

Tommy Brown becomes the youngest player to hit a MLB HR.
Something Ryan Williams never did as a 17 yr old......................

During WWII, many MLB players served in the war, which gave several teenagers opportunities to move up to the majors.

Tommy Brown was called up to the Brooklyn Dodgers as a 16 year old in 1944. He hit .162 in 46 games. Brown started the 1945 season back in the minors, but in July, he was called back up to the Dodgers where he would be their starting Shortstop for the remainder of the season.

On August 20, Brown hit his first HR of his career in a 11-1 loss against the Pirates. He became the youngest player to ever hit a Home Run in a major league baseball game (17 years).

Yep. Ticket price increase is such a small factor for me. The real cost of going to a game is dealing with the traffic afterwards lol
Yes siree, by the time I add up the expense of going to and being at the game, tickets are a fraction. Food, drinks, lodging for a late game (we drag our camper), and miscellaneous and sundry purchases > cost of admission.

F everybody but Tennessee. LFG!

Best edit yet. Now if someone would have the balls to cut Butch out, it would be perfect. Gives Berry’s return due credit, too.

I want to remind all you morans that I was solely responsible for the karma whiplash that day. Flashback sequence: I was at the house for that game and my wife invited one of her friends and her obnoxious idiot of a husband. He knew jack and squat about football and really didn't watch the game but constantly made stupid comments and said he wanted Georgia to win.
Everytime he left the room good things would happen for Tennessee, when he came back we would suck. He was talking smack when that Eason chick threw the late td. He stepped outside to get a drink from the cooler on the porch before the last play. I locked his azz out. The Dobbnail Boot happens and everyone loses their shite, he's outside looking in through the window on the door like a fool. It was glorious.

Georgia was so much better than most everybody else during that stretch. Heck they won with that epileptic hobbit Stetson Bennett.

*I'm not saying Aguilar can't lead the VOLS to another double digit win season. I would love for him too. I'm just being cautious about my enthusiasm for the QB positionthis season. I was all in on Nico winning the Heisman after we went to the ETSU game last season. I was wrong. We got to SEC play and Nico played scared. I'm not crowning Joey Aguilar "the best QB sincre Hendon Hooker" until I see him in SEC play. That's fair on my part. Wasn't Guaranto the Gatorade Player of the Year or an Under Armour All American or something like that? He didn't live up to our expectations. I know the coaches he had were subpar but a lot of it was on himself.
Imo the first part of your assessment is perfectly fair and reasonable, given he hasn’t played a down for us yet. However, to then flip it and say he is Guarantano, is unfair and unreasonable…. Given he hasn’t played a down for us yet.

I agree with this sentiment.

Too much work. Just do cloud seeding to block the rays over downtown.

Could launch Operation Dark Storm to black out the sky. Positive side effect would be to potentially kill all the robots which are dependent on solar power. Negative side effect would be if they figured out a way to use electric activity in human brains as an alternative power source. Of course, in that scenario we could choose the blue pill in which case Vols are 17-0 every year from now on!!

Maybe she should give motivation pregame speeches to our teams before big games!

According to Dolly the only way is

17-0 🤠
They wouldn't hear anything she said in a meeting 😂 😂 😂
