Michigans rushing offense is more similar to the NFL than ours. We need some of our offensive guys to become good NFL players.
The NFL isn’t one scheme that Michigan “matches.” On Sundays you see shotgun and under-center looks, wide zone, counter, duo, gap runs, RPO, and some tempo. Plenty of what we run shows up in the NFL. What translates for RBs are traits and assignments like vision, footwork, ball security, receiving, and pass protection. Our backs are coached hard in pass pro and former Vols get good marks there. You can’t dismiss our offense just because it isn’t methodical. Some pieces don’t map that well, but many do. I think NFL coaches tend to agree since that position has had a nice streak of draft picks the last few years.
