Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

That's the way to do it. Most fishing spots are right over yonder anyway. If you're on an impoundment, that trolling motor is all you need. Maybe a drift sock if they're generating.
Yeah, I figured just carry an extra battery and I should be able to go about anywhere I want. I'd like to find some sort of empty island I could pull up to, put up a tent and camp for a night without being murdered or fined like crazy.

Isn't there an island like that on Douglas, down toward the dam?

I took off and left them to it, 😂. My parting words were "check the fuel tank float". Have no idea if that caused it, but sounded good to me as I was saying it.
One of my neighbors was a middle aged napoleon. He'd he pretending to be working and listening to my conversation.

One day he came over as boat wouldnt start, chest all puffed out. 'You boys need a hand?'

'No were fine.'

Goes and gets his tool box anyway. Out of it he pulls a screwdriver and starter spray. As if we hadnt thought of that.

After a few tries, he says 'you'll have to get a tow.😆

not sure. there's definitely places like that on cherokee

Sounds like a fuel issue. Fuel filter dirty, bad fuel or something similar.

Know a few guys who have single outboards who run 40-50 miles out. I think they’re nuts. All it takes is one little issue and they’re in for a huge tow bill
That's what I was thinking. Something with the fuel system, but we couldn't find anything obvious.

Norris is loaded with them.

Believe it or not, he was hooked in the mouth. That's what was wild about it. My dad thought for sure I snared him til we got him in the boat. Then again, maybe I just got lucky and hooked him in the jaw.

This old jon boat. . . i've just noticed it sitting behind this guys garage for a couple years now. I bet I could get it cheap, maybe $200-$400. I may do it if all it needs is some tires and a motor, maybe some wheel bearings and little stuff. I bet he's got a motor for it in his garage or laying in the boat, but I'd rather just get it without a motor and get a little trolling motor for it. I saw some cheap temu type of motors for about $100 if I wanted gas power. . . I think they're just chainsaw engines anyway.

I'm worried what's gonna happen if I do get it. . . next thing will be a depth finder, then better fishing rods, new lures. I'll have $1k worth of stuff in a $200 boat 👀 😂
That's wild bud, that catfish was hungry evidently. I've caught them on crank baits before...........but that crank bait wasn't going 35 mph on the retrieve. 😂

If it'll float you may be on to something, but be aware everything you said will come true eventually. You'll have 5 grand in gear fishing out of a $200 boat. Guarantee it. You'll have to get a Garmin striker with at least a 7 inch screen, some new rod and reels, depending on what you want to fish for. Gotta have some ultra light rods for pan fish and crappie, its just goes on and on........

Start the boat. Drive for 10-15mins, it dies. Starts back up and runs again for a minute then dies. Repeat.

What's wrong with it? I tried rubbing a wet rag on it already.
I've had this problem twice for 2 different, opposite reasons. 1. The vent on the fuel tank clogged causing suction in the fuel line. Eventually the engine can't draw fuel. Changed the cap on the tank with an unclogged vent and it worked. 2. Old fuel hoses and clamps in the engine just deteriorating. Sucking more air than fuel into so eventually it sputters and dies.

I don’t care who makes them, but I think they’re one of the final steps to washing away the BVS stench.

Not placing confidence in a win on who starts the game thread

as the Rock said, IT DOESNT MATTER WHO STARTS THE GAME THREAD!

Them VOLS gonna dominate anyway
The Rock is wrong. It's been proven bad things happen when @Glitch starts a game thread.

I like Norris. We always hung around the Andersonville boat dock area. They built those condos and made it a private ramp, but the guy who runs the dock still lets us use it.

That's probably where I'd go if I wanted to camp for a night or 2.

I'd say that's what's going on with this one. The vent sounds a lot like what it's doing and makes sense. I'll check it tomorrow if they haven't figured it out.
