Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

NCAA has been sued so many times by Universities, no wonder they lightly hit Michigan. Hell they knew another lawsuit would be coming their way..

Hey y’all think Brooks is mad UGA missed the playoffs and a chance at a 3 peat in the last year of the 4 team format due to a lone loss to a team that barely beat them and eventually would barely lose in the natty to a team that had to cheat to get there?

He’s right, about everything about Michigan. And I hate them for it. And he and uga can still suck it.

SMU done what they wanted while they were already on Probation.
Good point. That's another reason for the NCAA stalling on behalf of Michigan since 2021-22. If they had hit Michigan then, the pile of later infractions would have been during probation.

This also means the NCAA has already decided to ignore Michigan's worst infractions completely, those involving hacking the computer systems of rival teams. I mean, assuming a completely corrupt and criminal NCAA (for the sake of the argument).

But if the NCAA is the least bit honest, Michigan will soon go down for perhaps 1,000 instances of violations of NCAA rules — and each is a Federal felony. The Feds somehow made a decision to ignore an organized felony ring at Michigan in 2022.

The NCAA still refuses to include Michigan stealing our signals in 2022 among the infractions. (We were not a regular season opponent, Stallions bought the tickets, but sent someone in his place.) It's OK to do that to Tennessee, according to the NCAA.
According to the panel, Stalions directed a network of staff, interns, and acquaintances -- referred to as the "KGB" -- to conduct off-campus scouting of 13 future regular-season opponents over 52 contests from 2021 to 2023. He purchased tickets, attended games, and collected film of opponents' signals, which he later deciphered. Stalions admitted spending nearly $35,000 on tickets in 2022 alone.

A Big Ten GM told CBS. "The problem with the NCAA taking so long to dish out a penalty helped Michigan here. A postseason ban with a quicker decision on top of their punishment would have hit harder." Instead, while the NCAA sat on its hands for years (stalling like insurance defense lawyers), "They did what they did and won a national title."

The scheme actually started in 2021.

AP responding to some one saying DT is lacking depth:

Moi
Eason
Utley
Dom Bailey can shift inside
Jamal Wallace is having a really nice fall camp
Robinson
Schell
Campbell

Utley is in the 2 deep because of play. He was before the injury. G loves him. G loves a lot of these kids.
Didnt expect Campbell to be last on the depth chart

Here's the NCAA Infraction decision. You can see the computer crimes are NOT included.

This is the full report.
My best guess: Probably because they fall under federal jurisdiction. And/or the NCAA doesn’t have an area in their rule book that covers infractions of that nature.

Here ya go, Enki. Note: I had to teach this one and google's the other day that the most points ever scored on a Saban bama team was by Tennessee in 2022. It gave a false answer. Also the truth was missing from the first page of the google search. Anyway:
