What school did Rickey Gibson transfer in from?

Nobody is gonna have the depth that teams used to have at any position group in the portal era. But how do you know the OL doesn’t have depth? You putting eyes on practice?

WRs could be bad and Nico would still deserve plenty of blame. Didn’t see the field all that well, didn’t process well, overthrew a ton of open guys.

WM continues to churn out guys that are productive in the NFL. Who cares what guys are rated out of HS if we put a good product on the field?

It’s a new era of cfb. Doesn’t matter if we get good players from portal or HS. If the staff can coach them up and we’re good, why do you care? Wonder if OSU fans are like “yeah Caleb Downs is prob the best defensive player in cfb but we didn’t recruit him out of HS ☹️”.
I did think Gibson was a transfer. Pruitt I'm pretty sure recruited Lally and Hadden. Martinez is also the coach I have least issue with out of the three, because at least he can take guys that are performing on other teams from the portal. I do wonder if he even bothers with recruiting any CB in the top 100 out of high school. I just don't remember him landing a splash recruit. The Oline coach has finally stopped missing on everyone last year, but that group looked awful pass blocking last year.

While I agree with you about transfer portal issues could definitely contribute to depth, we are still recruiting 5 oline every year. Are we missing on that many evaluations? Our tackles looked like the were playing in quick sand last year.

And since you brought up Ohio State, it's apparent that they know what they're doing with NIL compared to our absolute lack of success landing big names. Right now we are holding on to hope of flipping Keys from LSU whom we led for last year according to the VN sages on this board. Gray is a long shot, and we supposedly lead for Hitter with an NIL that keeps getting out bid. If we land one of those 3 and finish with 3 top 50 guys, it's a success. If we just end up with Faizon and Moa, then we are still going to be a second tier SEC team on the depth chart. I'm not a star gazer, but we have to have those recruiting wins to take the next step in my opinion.

In what world are we currently struggling at recruiting OL. And in what world have we been struggling to develop CBs?
The first 4 classes have produced what on the O line depth? Did you watch pass blocking last year? What top 10 CB have we landed out of high school? How well did those two CB's cover Ohio State last year?

"The NCAA’s ruling, announced on August 15, 2025, follows a Committee on Infractions meeting, with Michigan facing 11 violations, six of which are Level I, the most serious. No postseason ban or vacation of wins, including the 2023 national championship, is expected."
