Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Did not know Candace Parker was involved with Adidas.

"From my days rocking the orange and white to now leading on and off the court, adidas has always had my back with the best gear and support," said Candace Parker, two-time national champ with the Lady Vols and adidas President of Women's Basketball.

Also, 👀

Already, adidas is working to land NIL deals with Tennessee student-athletes during the 2025-2026 school year before the brand's partnership with UT officially commences in July.

If Tennessee has 2 or more successful plays in a row on offense, they will be assessed a minimum of 1 10 yard holding called in order to stall and destroy any offensive momentum they might be creating.

I thought that rule was already in place as we saw just about every game last season?

I'm not sure how bad his int problem really is. 10 picks in 2 years in JUCO. 10 picks in 2023 in 24 games, out of 460 passes.

Hendon had 7 ints in two years at VT in 320 less passes than he threw here

Our system will limit that. He hits deep balls. He doesn't hold the ball, makes quick decisions. Strong enough arm in a QB friendly offense. Odds are in our favor He does fine.
His success in this system will be can he read the defense presnap and do multiple reads on the play and throw it away instead of hero move when necessary

Do those 3 and we know he can throw the ball…

I mean. The dude put up 3700 yards and 33 tds in 2023. That's not nothing. Then threw for 3000 yards and 24 td's last year, while the entire campus at App State was literally under water from Hurricane Helene. He's great at RPO and making quick decisions and delivers a really accurate deep ball that falls softly into the receivers hands. There's gonna be picks, but people need to remember that Heupel's MO is limiting turnovers. His starting QB's have only thrown 18 interceptions over the last 4 years. Thats 4.5 a season. I don't know, I have average expectations, but I think there are going to be a lot of exciting moments this year. And under Heupel, those moments usually go in our favor.
If Josh Heupel had transferred to Tennessee to be the next starting QB instead of OU, people would be talking about him the same or worse than they are now.

Heupel knows what's possible and I believe he'll squeeze every bit of success out of Aguilar. He'll be better than Nico, stats-wise, and maybe the best QB since Heupel has been here. . .

You're making to much sense. Most these guys think we are going to win every game, every year. You're not allowed to bring up the fact that we have struggled at CB WR and OL recruiting and development. Any great organization cuts dead weight. If we get a shot to hire an upgrade at any of these positions at the end of this year, we should.

I’m old enough to remember when everyone wanted an “upgrade” over Tim Banks.

Also our CBs are good. And our OL is apparently good. We have two 5* tackles. What do you want there? WRs a question mark.

Boo did all this to himself.
100

He is still showing up late to practices even now....alleged to be 1 or 2

Not so secret rumor is he "allegedly" got his butt kicked (team enforcement) before he checked out of summer workouts. That is when he flew the coop and was awol.

He's only here in any capacity because he's so damn talented, but he no longer has a net and his ceiling is drastically reduced by his own actions.

Before anyone flies the Basillio or rumor flag at me - the stuff prior has been right and sources very clearly pointed to players or news leak by staff. Boo is only here because Heup gets final vote.
