Considering your neighbor is a VFL, I take comfort in this. I’m guessing he has been watching practices and hearing plenty of news from those who know about what we really have with this team. Based on what you have heard, are you optimistic about this season?

He hasn’t seen anything this year. But he gets info here and there. It all depends on how the passing game goes. Defense will be lights out . OL looks really good and so do running backs. Tight end room is great. We just need the passing game to be clicking by mid season and anything can happen. The thought is it’s an 8-10 win team. So if we can stay healthy in certain spots and get things clicking, it could be a really good season.

Lol of the 2 of us I’m the only one that does trust the staff. I trust that there is a backup plan such as shifting focus to another RB or rolling with what we have and utilizing the portal bc they feel good about the room.

It doesn’t matter what’s been reported. They could still be keeping tabs on another RB without relaying that info to AP or others. Or are you under impression those reporters - that only see 30 mins of practice and then are kicked out - are so plugged in that they know every little detail?

Do they know everything? No. But they do know more than you're giving them credit for.

I trust this staff, but I don't have the blind faith you seem to have that they can do no wrong. No one is perfect. Not even wise old Yetis such as myself. You've put the coaches on a pedestal.

Despite what some may think, it's okay to call a screw up a screw up. Coaches know when they make mistakes. Most fans are smart enough to know it, too. They don't need synchophants making excuses for them.

Wonder how long we will have to wait before the Vol shop starts selling Nike apparel at bargain bin prices?

They had a 20% discount on a bunch of Nike gear for 2 weeks in late July and early August. A bunch of sizes were already going. I’m sure they will have bargains in some stores but guessing they’ve started phasing out.

I am so far behind the times. I refuse to pay $200+ for tennis shoes.
