Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Maybe the most variable expectation year since Heupel's 1st?
People thinking we could only win 7 and those thinking we make the playoff.

Not sure I had high hopes that first year - a bowl game was good enough for me, after what Heupel inherited

I think this compares to the Milton year

Yep. I thought @LaagerVol didn't really know and was asking to understand, not to start 💩. So I filled him in. Should I delete that post? Serious question. I don't mind.

I won't say anything else about it, no matter who asks me. 🤐
I knew about the stuff weeks ago with boo almost getting kicked off the team. Thought the latest kicked back up after she made a comment about the Brazzell incident and saying volnation would have made a bigger deal out of it if it has been boo.

I agree though. It’s best to let it die, for all parties involved. I guess her personality type just grates on my nerves and it bothers me when people give her a pass.

I still would never tweet at her. I didn’t even respond to her when the drama was going on here on this forum. Nothing good can come if it but plenty of bad can

Thanks for responding. My coworker keeps telling me the fast is easier if my body is in ketosis. I'm trying to mentally prepare but other than eating lower portions and cutting down on sugar/carbs, I'm not doing anything else. Did you prep for your fasting or did you just go for it?
As many have said hydrate and electrolytes. I don’t think you need to be in ketosis. I was carbed on my longest. Not sure it made it worse. It's the mental that you have to have dialed in.

That's what I thought too.

Have you fasted?
I do intermittent fasting. Do 16:8. Fast 16 hours, then have an 8 hour window to eat. Honestly, most of the times I do somewhere between 17-18 hr fasts with shorter eating windows. Can only drink water, unsweetened tea, or black coffee in the fasting window. Black coffee was the hardest to adjust to, because I love my coffee with creamer. I’ve been doing it for 2.5 years or so now. My bloodwork was always exceptional at my yearly physicals, but the intermittent fasting has taken it to another level. My dr tells me I’m only one of a handful that he sees bloodwork like mine and I’ll be 50 next year. I now treat myself usually on the weekends and have creamer in my coffee, as I’m happy with where I am physically. Truly fast 5 days a week to maintain, but I still honor my windows on the weekends, although technically my fast is broken when I have coffee with creamer on Sat and Sun mornings.

I was agreeing with you, hombre.

Carbs have to do with ketosis, which is when one's body begins using fats for fuel. Ketosis begins in an absence of carbs since the body will use carbs for fuel before fat. As such:

If there is nothing coming in (for the body to burn for fuel), then there's no carbs coming in (for the body to burn as fuel--thus the body will burn stored fat, inducing ketosis).

Tranquilo, amigo. Tanquilo.
Ha ha. Shows what I know. I don't do carbs at all though! I get some carbs but, man, I cut all bread and pasta out of my diet and my health got better in a jiffy. Doctor tried to put me on insulin, I put myself on a diet and stuck to it. Lost a ton of weight fast

There are all the healthy carbs a body could need in green vegetables.

My biggest fear for the season is that Aguilar is Grayson McCall 2.0 .
I get what you're saying, and I'd be lying if I said I havent had that same thought (it's not my biggest fear, though)...and, someone may have already beaten me to the punch here; but, we are way more talented around whoever it will be, than NC State was around McCall...way more.

If defense and run game are what we believe it to be, that's 8 wins right there, imo. A great defense and run game have won many more games than they have lost. I believe we have one of the Top 5 defenses in the country. Our run game...Heupel could put a coconut in the backfield, and we'd still rushed for 2500+.

How much carbs? Can I eat broccoli and tomatoes, for example? Idk.

This exactly where I'm at. I just turned 50. I did a loose version of the 16- 8 but the creamer is a killer. I couldn't give up my International Delights. I'd only have 1 cup (instead of 2-3) and just a splash of creamer. My friend was giving me a hard time about using creamer during my faster window but I did lose 20 pounds in 2 months last fall, without giving it up. I still want to try the 3 day fast but a serious 16 - 8 is more realistic for me.

Black coffee is for tough guys and old people. I like a little froo froo in mine. 🤣
